Lecturers from Our University Took Part in the XXI World Congress on Organic Agriculture
Prof. Dr. Elka Vassileva and Prof. Dr. Daniela Ivanova from the Economics of Natural Resources Department to the UNWE Business Faculty, took part in the XXI World Organic Agriculture Congress, which was held in Taiwan from 30 November to 4 December 2024.
The World Organic Forum brought together representatives from more than 30 countries from around the world under the topic Cultivating Organic Solutions for True Sustainability. The organizers had decorated the Central Hall with orchids coloured like the flags of each participating country and among them was also the Bulgarian national tricolour.

The International Federation for Organic Agriculture Movement - Organic International (IFOAM Organic international) and Nanhua University in Taiwan were the main organizers of the event.
The four main thematic areas examined many aspects of organic agriculture as a production system that integrates the principles of health, ecology, equity and care adhering to the UN Sustainable Development Goals /SDGs/ and ESG principles.

As the authors of the study entitled VOLUNTARY SUSTAINABLE STANDARDS THROUGH THE GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAIN - BULGARIAN CASE STUDY Prof. Dr. Elka Vassileva and Prof. Dr. Daniela Ivanova participated in the poster session accompanying the Congress Programme in the period 1-3 December 2024.

During the discussions the necessity for co-existence with other production systems, shared prosperity and common benefits of organic farming and sustainable development were highlighted.
