UNWE – A Host of The Competition in Microeconomics for Pupils

The UNWE was a host of the Competition in Microeconomics for pupils from the National Trade and Banking High School. At the opening of the event attended Prof. Dr. Ognyan Simeonov, First Vice-Rector and Vice-Rector on Education in EQD of Bachelor, Emilia Ivanova, Director of the National Trade and Banking High School, the jury from the Economics Department by a Chairman Assist. Nikolay Velichkov, Scientific Secretary of the Department. In the Competition titled We Know More were involved fifty 9th grade pupils from the elite metropolitan high school.

The Rector of UNWE Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev awarded the national high school “for a useful cooperation and in relation with the 101st Anniversary of its foundation” by the commemorative medal “Prof. Stephan Bobchev, founder and first Rector of the University of National and World Economy”. Prof. Dr. Ognyan Simeonov bestowed the medal on the Director of the National and Trade Banking School Emilia Ivanova wishing success in the competition and educational activity.

Prof. Simeonov is awarding the commemorative medal to the Director of the National Trade and Banking High School.

Lots of students at the UNWE are our alumni, outlined Emilia Ivanova who expressed her thankfulness to the university Managing Body for the cooperation between both leaders in the higher and secondary education. The Director of the National Trade and Banking High School bestowed on Prof. Simeonov the commemorative jubilee medal of the elite high school.

The competitors

In the competition participated ten teams of five pupils and one first year student at the UNWE, alumnus of the National Trade and Banking High School. In the first round of the competition pupils answered the questions addressed to them and in the second round they defended their project ideas. The competition was held for a fifth consecutive year but for the first time its host was the UNWE.
