UNWE Will Collaborate with Leading University of Uzbekistan

A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the UNWE and the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Uzbekistan /SRIUTCH/.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maria Vodenicharova, Vice Rector for Research, signed the Memorandum on behalf of the Rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov, together with Prof. Sardorbek Samaridinov, Vice Rector for International Affairs, who signed the agreement on behalf of the Rector of the University of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov /in the picture below/.

"The collaboration between the universities around the world is extremely important because it helps to improve the educational and cultural understanding between the countries, to develop the science and education. One of the priorities of our university is precisely the international academic cooperation, which we expand with this memorandum", said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maria Vodenicharova.

Prof. Sardorbek Samaridov explained that the the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage in Samarkand is a leading scientific and educational center in Central Asia having achievements in the scientific and educational fields. "We can implement cooperation not only in the field of tourism but also in terms of economic disciplines which are also a priority of our university. Let`s encourage the joint research in the fields of tourism, cultural heritage and economics as well as the establishment of joint programmes and exchange of students and lecturers”, added Prof. Sardorbek Samaridov.

The Secretary General for Digitalization and Cybersecurity Assoc. Prof. Dr. Noncho Dimitrov, who is also Deputy Dean for Quality and International Cooperation of the Economics of Infrastructure Faculty and the main initiator of the agreement, explained that the objective of this collaboration is to promote the international understanding by stimulating and supporting the internationalization of research in higher education.

The lecturers from the University of Uzbekistan discussed the specific areas of cooperation between the two universities with their colleagues from the UNWE, which include joint initiatives and projects, organization of conferences, seminars, round table conferences, joint programmes for the development of lecturers, young researchers and students.
