The UNWE Quality Policy is Expanded with a Strategy for the Integration of the University into the European Educational Space
The Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov signed an Annex to the Quality Policy.
The meeting was attended by the Chairperson of the Quality Council and Vice-Rector for Educational Activity Prof. Dr. Matilda Alexandrova, the Deputy Chairperson of the Council Prof. Dr. Elka Vassileva and its members Albena Uzunova, Director of the Science Directorate, Prof. Dr. Elenita Velikova, Secretary General for Science and Dr. Ekaterina Deliverska, Director of the Educational Activity Directorate /in the picture below/.
The Rector Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov outlined that "the signed Annex to the Quality Policy, as part of the strategic management of the university, is in line with the set objectives". He declared his personal participation and responsibility for the implementation of the announced Quality Policy in the UNWE development as a benchmark for innovative educational, research and employer practices, as well as proactive behavior and presence in the global market of educational services: "The management is committed to providing adequate resources necessary for the implementation of the set objectives and ensures the necessary conditions for strict compliance with the requirements of UNWE Quality Management System".
Prof. Matilda Alexandrova, Vice-Rector for Educational Activity and Chairperson of the Quality Council, pointed out that "the signed document is completely in line with the strategic goals and the mandate programme of the Rector Prof. Dimitrov, which is also approved by the Ministry of Education and Science. We move in one direction and it is the quality also in terms of internationalization, digitalization and research activities as well as regarding the overall process at the University."
Prof. Dr. Elka Vassileva, Deputy Chairperson of the Quality Council, defined the Quality Policy as "the most important component in the quality management of UNWE" and specified that the Annex to the Quality Policy is in the field of integration of our university in the European educational space. Prof. Vassileva outlined the steps by which this integration can tabe implemented: "The first step is the university project ENGAGE.EU with the second version 2.0. The second step is through digitisation and sustainability search. The new approach set in the signed document will allow every single unit in the University - Faculty, Directorate - to bring out their specific objectives in the light of this new direction that the Rector has signed."
The UNWE Quality Policy is to conduct a high quality educationg in different educational qualification levels, forms and levels of tuition in accordance with the traditions and values of Bulgarian higher education, the world experience and the modern educational trends of the leading universities.
Its objective is also to develop scientific and applied research in the field of social, economic and legal sciences in areas such as: economics, administration and management, law, sociology, anthropology and cultural sciences, public communications and information sciences and political sciences, in accordance with the scientific and educational policy of the country and the European Union and according to the requirements for anticipatory training of highly qualified personnel for significant current fields and areas of science and social practice. To actively engage in the European Education Space through an equal partnership in the European University Alliance ENGAGE.EU and with joint efforts and comprehensive interdisciplinary approaches to stimulate digitalisation and innovation and promote sustainable development. To create opportunities for unrestricted exchange of knowledge and skills between the universities in the Alliance turning our students into a new generation of socially engaged European citizens, serving society as experts in social, economic and legal sciences.
