Prof. Tsachevski

The development of the country which has approved as a symbol of democracy is based on the same principled as it is in the other democratic states – political pluralism, law supremacy, observance of the fundamental human rights and freedoms, separation of powers and developed civil society. Its specific character is due to the important role of referendums and other forms of direct democracy in the state government as well as to the neutral status announced nearly five centuries ago. The referendums and the neutrality are essential characteristics of what can be qualified as “Swiss model” of state and political system, pointed out Prof. Tsachevski.
