The new Business Club UNWE organized its first event jointly with the Students Council of the university. A public lecture was read by Maxim Behar, PR expert who spoke to students on the Social Media – Freedom of Speech, Tribune for Leaders or Just an Instrument for Knowledge?.

The lecturer grounded his viewpoints about the social media and their dominating role in society. “The social media has a huge influence now not only over communications but also over societies as a whole”, pointed out Behar. He determined as modified the roles of the press, television and radio and forecasted soon would come the end of newspapers. The lecturer ascertained that the world was changing by the light speed and that the online space was full of new social media which were shading the Facebook monopoly.

The public communications at the moment are the most dynamic developing sphere on the planet, specified also Maxim Behar. He outlined some essential “features” from their application – publicity, PR, successful personal branding in the Internet. The most interesting in the social media lies ahead and the so called classical event management will disappear in the next five years and it will become entirely online, forecasted the PR expert.

Maxim Behar is a famous authority on social media and he works out conceptions and strategies for their application in the business. He manages M3 Communications Group, Inc., the leading PR company, part of the world corporation chain Hill+Knowlton Strategies and since January, 2012 he has become Director of the Hill+Knowlton Strategies office in Prague. He is Chairman of the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum for two mandates (2001 – 2007), part of the Welsh Prince International Forum. Maxim Behar is a member of dozens of Boards and Managing Councils. In 2010 he is elected for a treasurer of the International Communications Consultancy Organization (ICCO), the most influential world organization in the PR business. He is also Honorary consul of the Republic of Seychelles in Bulgaria.
