UNWE and TEREM-HOLDING EAD Signed a Memorandum of Strategic Partnership

The Rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov and Kalin Dimitrov, Executive Director of TEREM - HOLDING EAD /TEREM/, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. It includes the provision of lecturers by TEREM for the training of students from the UNWE, the organization of visits and internships at TEREM, the exchange of information on best practices and standards, and interaction in research activities in the field of economics of defence and security as well as discussions and consultations in the preparation of curricula for training in this field.

Our university pays great attention to the cooperation with business, state administration, associations, Bulgarian and foreign large corporations and all this has a single goal - to give our students greater opportunities for training and development, for contact with the business, and for acquiring practical skills. Every week we sign 2-3 memorandums, which include the organization of master classes, business academies, internships, and paid scholarships", said the Rector of UNWE.

The Executive Director Kalin Dimitrov expressed his readiness TEREM to help the students to acquire technical business skills by organizing internships and trainings in the divisions of the holding, and on the other hand, relies on the partnership in terms of providing scientific knowledge in the field of economics of defence and security by the University as well as for the development of joint projects, the organization of conferences and other events.

The Coordinator for the implementation of the framework agreement for cooperation from the UNWE is Prof. Dr. Tsvetan Tsvetkov, National and Regional Security Department, and from TEREM is the Executive Director Kalin Dimitrov.

The meeting was attended by Anton Lazarov, member of the Board of Directors of TEREM, the Rector, Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov, Prof. Dr. Tsvetana Stoyanova, Vice-Rector for Institutional and Business Cooperation and Student Policies, Kalin Dimitrov, and Prof. Dr. Tsvetan Tsvetkov from the National and Regional Security Department

After the signing of the Memorandum, Kalin Dimitrov delivered a public lecture to students of the National and Regional Security Department, where he presented the activities of TEREM-HOLDING EAD - a sole joint-stock company with 100% state property to the Ministry of Defence and the structure of the holding, including 5 companies.

"Nowadays TEREM-HOLDING EAD is a leader in the provision of high-quality repairs, production, modernization and logistics support of equipment and armaments in the defence industry. The company is the only one in the country with the necessary production facilities and qualified personnel to realize its goals", summarized Kalin Dimitrov.

The hall was full of students from different courses and specialties as well as the lecturers from the National and Regional Security Department. Many questions were raised and an interesting discussion took place.

TEREM-HOLDING EAD is a state-owned company to the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Bulgaria, specializing in the repair, modernization, and logistic support of aviation equipment, ships and vessels, armoured vehicles, firearms, artillery and missile weapons, ammunition, radar and communication equipment.
