UNWE Received the Brand of Bulgaria Award in the Category of Innovative Universities

The University of National and World Economy was awarded the Brand of Bulgaria prize in the category of Innovative Universities of Bulgaria at the second edition of the Annual National Brand of Bulgaria Awards.

Our university received the award for its focused strategy of successful integration of students in the business environment of Bulgaria. The award was accompanied by vouchers for communication and media services for a total value of more than 12 000 BGN.

The Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov received the award from Dr. Krassimir Shelev, one of the leading innovators in Europe in the field of biological medicine and Chief Doctor at the Orthopaedic Clinic of the University Hospital in Zurich, Switzerland who in 2016 opened his own clinic under the brand Swiss Pain & Detox Clinic in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland.

"Our task is to create competitive specialists for the Bulgarian economy. People who meet the business from the student bench and gain experience from the leading companies in their respective fields and state institutions. Almost 100 percent of our students find professional realization at the labour market and most of them find prestigious jobs even while studying. That`s why this award is particularly valuable for us. It is a sign not only that our efforts are noticed but also that our country needs them", said Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov receiving the statuette - a lion, personifying the prosperity of Bulgaria and a key element in the coat of arms of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The Rector reminded that the UNWE has obtained the highest accreditation score among Bulgarian universities - 9.80 and that for several consecutive years it has received the Academic Oscar Award for the most prestigious university in the professional field of Economics according to employers and lecturers in higher education institutions. Prof. Dimitrov also talked about the business academies organized in support of training with leading companies such as Coca-Cola, Kaufland, etc.

The solemn ceremony took place on 4 April at the Inter Expo Center, Sofia. The awards were established in 2023 by TV1 Bulgaria and the show The Brands of Bulgaria in a strategic partnership with the Inter Expo Center.

The Annual National Brand of Bulgaria Awards aim to give deserved recognition and attention to the brands from all over the country established on the Bulgarian market for their significant contribution to the development of the Bulgarian economy. In addition to the established and prominent brands that are drivers of the country's economy the selection is also focused on those that contribute to small and medium-sized businesses, setting an example and giving hope to others that the golden years of the Bulgarian economy are ahead.

The purpose of the second edition of the Annual National Brand of Bulgaria Awards is to give an opportunity to tell about the challenges facing the different sectors of the economy but also to reward the efforts of the people who are drivers of positive change and who are the "builders" of the new business environment in Bulgaria. The organizer of the event was the presenter of the show The Brands of Bulgaria on TV1 Bulgaria Maria Vassileva who gave the selected TOP 20 brands of Bulgaria the opportunity to tell more about the challenges and achievements and who are the people behind the logo that build the sustainable business policies of our country.

The co-presenter of the event was Pavel Vladimirov known from the morning block of Nova TV Hello, Bulgaria and founder of the brand for the production of video content, commercials, and films - CINEMATIKA.

The participants are divided into 20 business areas and selected to cover more than 10 brand criteria for evaluation by a 6-member commission.

"The market experience shows that the brands that are distinguished by the sustainability of their business processes are those that invest not only in innovations in production processes but also in socially responsible causes, green lines of product positioning as well as in media coverage of the successes they achieve", says Maria Vassileva, presenter of the show The Brands of Bulgaria on TV1 Bulgaria and Chief Visionary of the Forum. According to her, this second edition of the Annual National Brand of Bulgaria Awards is of great importance for the overall micro-economic scene of the country, because the economic stability and the change of the overall entrepreneurial environment depend on both big and small Bulgarian brands and their market success.
