High Level of Interest in the Preliminary Exam of UNWE in Format of State Matriculation Examination from Prospective Students in the Town of Yambol

On 30 March 2024 at Vasil Levsky High School in the town of Yambol for the second consecutive year an external exam in the format of State Matriculation Examination in Bulgarian Language and Literature for admission to UNWE was held. The organization and implementation of this exam outside the UNWE is the result of an agreement signed between the Rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov and Mrs. Donka Atanasova, Director of Vasil Levsky High School. The examination was held at a high level of organization due to the partnership efforts of the host team and the UNWE representatives. A total of 105 high school pupils from Yambol, Sliven, Stara Zagora, Plovdiv, Burgas, Nessebar, Shumen and Veliko Tarnovo after pre-registration on the online platform for admission to UNWE came in the building of Vasil Levsky High School to take part in the exam.

The exam was held in compliance with all the requirements for the State Matriculation Examination in Bulgarian Language and Literature and the prospective studens had the opportunity to test their knowledge on the exam questions organized in three modules. These included multiple-choice questions, short free answers, extended free answers and text production tasks. The preliminary exam gives the applicants an additional opportunity to form an opinion on the admission to their desired field of study at the UNWE. The applicants are motivated to take the preliminary exams because the UNWE gives them the opportunity to be ranked for their desired speciality with the highest achieved score.

Prof. Dr. Matilda Alexandrova, Vice Rector for Educational Activities of UNWE, greeted the pupils for their choice and presented the advantages of our university and the opportunities for admission and training in the various disciplines provided by the University. She emphasized on the leading role of UNWE as one of the leading universities in the education of economics and social sciences in Southeastern Europe.

In Hall 303 the prospective student girl from Vasil Levsky High School of Yambol Anelia Atanasova drew the Examination option №3. The pupils had to choose between an essay on the Harmony between the Man and the Nature and an interpretative essay on the Native Nature - a Refuge of the Spirit /in relation to Ivan Vazov's poem In the Rila Monastery/. The exam was held at high level of organization and strict observation of the established rules.
