UNWE Will Cooperate with Sandansky Municipality

The Rector of the University of National and World Economy Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov and the Mayor of Sandansky Municipality Atanas Stoyanov signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

The Memorandum outlines the priority areas, the forms of cooperation and the bodies to coordinate the joint activities between the two institutions.

"The UNWE's aspiration in signing the agreement is to contribute to the creation and maintenance of an appropriate institutional environment, promoting the tripartite partnership between the university, the local government and business,", said Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov and outlined that the policies for sustainable development at the local level should be inextricably related to the education and the future of young people. "The participation of the local authorities in this process is of key importance", said the Rector of UNWE.

The two parties join efforts to provide better chances for career development, increase the quality of higher education, partnership in conducting studies and research and training personnel in a real working environment.

The scope of the Memorandum includes partnership and commitment to work together to support the career development of human potential through joint initiatives, common projects, training and various forms of cooperation.

The signing of the memorandum was attended by Prof. Dr. Matilda Alexandrova, Vice-Rector for Educational Activity and Gergana Kirilova, Director of the Rector's Office at UNWE, Ivaylo Zlatanov, Head of the Regional Department of Education /RDE/, Blagoevgrad, Ivelin Terziisky, Chairman of the Education Committee in the Municipal Council of Sandansky and the Directors of the schools in the town.

During the meeting various opportunities were discussed to encourage pupils in Sandansky to continue their education through conducting prospective student exams on-site and participation in various campaigns, projects, and competitions as well as the prospects for development and realization that young people from the municipality have.
