National Scientific Practical Conference on the Pedagogical Communication - Social and Emotional Was Held at the UNWE

The 5th National Scientific Practical Conference on the Pedagogical Communication - Social and Emotional was held at the UNWE under the patronage of the Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov. It was organized by the Centre for Training and Qualification of Pedagogical Specialists Ltd, the Syndicate of Bulgarian Teachers and the Institute of Rhetoric and Communication with the media support by the Teachers Work newspaper. The Conference brought together the most prominent specialists in the field of pedagogical communication - representatives of the Ministry of Education, trade unions, research institutes, university lecturers, high school and kindergarten directors, teachers, and students.

Prof. Dr. Kalina Yocheva, lecturer at Konstantin Preslavsky University of Shumen and moderator of the event, Prof. Dr. Yanka Totseva, Head of the Pedagogics Department at the UNWE, D.Sc./Econ./ Yanka Takeva, Chairperson of the Syndicate of Bulgarian Teachers, Prof. Matilda Alexandrova, Acting Vice-Rector for Educational Activity, Dr. Emilia Lazarova, Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Chavdar Zdravchev, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Science, Prof. D.Sc./Phil./ Ivanka Mavrodieva, lecturer at St. Kliment Ohridsky University

Prof. Matilda Alexandrova, Acting Vice-Rector for Educational Activity, opened the Conference and greeted the participants. "We live in the XXI century - the century of the information society, when communication is becoming an increasingly important part of socialization, development, and professional development. Our university devotes particular importance to communication, we strive to develop in our graduates knowledge, skills and competence aimed at social and emotional communication", said Prof. Alexandrova.

"The role of this 5th National Scientific Practical Conference for the development of modern pedagogical communication is exceptional. The presentation of best practices will help to improve the quality of education", said Dr. Emilia Lazarova, Deputy Minister of Education and Science, emphasizing on the valuable partnership that the Ministry of Education and Science implements with teachers, with the academic community and civil society organizations to develop a new vision for better curricula and to build new skills and competencies.

"The social and emotional communication stands in the development of a person as a person because the social and emotional competence enables us to understand each other. Knowing the subtleties of pedagogical communication we can cope with the challenges in the educational system", said D.Sc./Econ./ Yanka Takeva, Chairperson of the Syndicate of Bulgarian Teachers and part time lecturer at the UNWE.

Prof. Dr. Yanka Totseva, Head of the Pedagogics Department at UNWE, also greeted the participants and presented the three thematic sections to be discussed during the two-day Conference:

  1. Contemporary features of pedagogical communication in preschool education.
  2. Challenges and opportunities for pedagogical communication in schools.
  3. Academic research on pedagogical communication.
