The Rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov held a working meeting for the Prospective Students Campaign 2024–2025 with representatives of the directly involved Directorates and Departments a day after the government proposed the abolition of tuition fees for undergraduate and Doctoral students under the state educational order.

Prof. Dimitrov made an analysis of the previous Prospective Students Campaign and reported a 30% increase in the admissions due to the active participation of Faculties, Departments and lecturers. He clarified that the decision for free education requires a change in the campaign approach. "We need to keep the high level of motivation of prospective students to the UNWE and to continue attracting talents and high achievers from Olympiads and competitions - a tradition we have successfully established. We will continue with the preliminary exams, the external examinations, the meetings by locations to facilitate and be as close to the applicants as possible which suits to a University with the highest institutional accreditation." He outlined that the University is open for meetings and talks with mayors and municipalities, something that have given fruitful results after last year's visits. Prof. Dimitrov added that he relies on the good cooperation with the Association of Economic Schools in Bulgaria /AESB/ and the Association of Foreign Language Schools in Bulgaria. Steps have also been taken for collaborative activities with the Association of Schools of Restaurant and Hotel Management and the Bulgarian Association of Private Schools.

During the meeting it was also discussed the schedule for conducting external preliminary examinations in the format of the state matriculation examination, which were introduced for the first time during the last Prospective Students Campaign and attracted many interested secondary school students. This year exams will be held again in the towns of Gotse Delchev /on 21 March 2024/ and Yambol /on 30 March 2024/. For the first time the UNWE will hold an exam in the format of state matriculation in geography and economy - the third most frequently applied subject at the matriculation exams. The exam will be held in Vratsa on 14 April 2024. Great results were also reported in terms of the cooperation with Regalia and MARE training centers - the implementation of common preliminary exams will continue this year, respectively, on 7 and 21 April 2024. These examinations which will be held at UNWE may also be attended by matriculants who are not studying at these centres.

The participation in the educational exhibitions also continues. The presentation of UNWE in Kyustendil, Ruse, Pleven and Vidin is upcoming. Meetings with mayors, municipalities and school directors also continue. Specially prepared teams of lecturers, students, and administration staff will present the specialties of UNWE in the following professional fields: Economics, Management and Administration, Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology and Culture Sciences, Public Communications and Information Sciences, Law. The messages and accents of the promotional materials were discussed.

On 14 March 2024 at the UNWE will be held a premiere of a film about the founder of the accounting science in Bulgaria and the second Rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dobrev. The presentation of the film in Maxima Aula is part of the Open Day prepared joinly with the Association of Economic Schools in Bulgaria.
