UNWE Welcomed a Record Number of Participants in the National Competition in Finance and Accounting of the Association of Economic Schools in Bulgaria

The UNWE was held the largest and the eldest National Competition organized by the Association of Economic Schools in Bulgaria /AESB/ with more than 20 years of history - the National Competition in Finance and Accounting. A record number of pupils competed in it - over 260 contestants from 23 vocational high schools members of AESB from all over the country.

For 2.5 astronomical hours the pupiuls have solved complex case studies in the field of finance and accounting.

Prof. Dr. Daniela Feschian, Chairwoman of AESB, opened the National Competition and introduced the official guests.

Prof. Dr. Daniela Feschian, Chairwoman of the Association of Economic Schools in Bulgaria, welcomed the competitors for their motivation and courage: "Today we show a triumph of the knowledge and motivation of the young people to fight for earning their worthy place in the big academic family of the University of National and World Economy. We would like to thank you for coming from all over the country on this snowy day despite the weather conditions", said Prof. Dr. Daniela Feschian, adding that the high school pupils participating in the competition today, unlike their classmates choosing the rational and preparing for the state final exam, has done something extraordinary because since the 9th grade they have been preparing and solving tests and problems in two fundamental economic disciplines - Finance and Accounting."It is appreciated by the Rector's leadership of UNWE and the business. We have built a bridge between the secondary education, the University and business. The Association of Economic Schools in Bulgaria is proud that this bridge becomes more and more stronger and the proof of this is today's presence of two successful graduates of UNWE - Mrs. Raya Petrova, graduate of speciality Accounting at the UNWE and Mr. Konstantin Stoyanov, graduate of speciality Finance at the UNWE, who declared to the leadership of AESB their desire to support the University which prepared them to achieve in their profession. Mr. Konstantin Stoyanov participates in the teaching process in discipline Management and Organization of Accounting Activity and he is also the creator of the first in Bulgaria accounting software using an artificial intelligence to switch from paper to electronic documents. Therefore, with your admission to the UNWE you get into the largest and most elite economic university in Bulgaria - the university where the business works and teaches. By graduating from the UNWE you become the best among the best, because "The path of success goes through the UNWE", emphasized Prof. Dr. Daniela Feschian.

"I am very pleased that with your strong motivation and your desire to perform, you are here today and I am sure that you will show the best of your capabilities", said the Vice Rector for Institutional and Business Cooperation and Student Policies Prof. Dr. Tsvetana Stoyanova and emphasized: "I also hope to see a great number of you during your first year in September because the National Finance and Accounting Competition produces some of our best students and the training you receive in the high schools also prooves that. It is a great pleasure for us as lecturers to teach students like you. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Prof. Dr. Daniela Feschian and the Association of Economic Schools in Bulgaria for their efforts over the years, because it is the largest and strongest competition that UNWE caries out, and our best students come out of it. I would also like to express thankfulness to the business representatives who provided the prizes for the best of you. Congratulations and admiration for all you do!"

"Today, once again, the largest business university in Bulgaria gave serious evidence that the relation between the secondary and the higher education is a real fact which has its history and deep significance and content due to the current Rector`s Managing Body of UNWE and due to the inspiration and messages personally addressed to the educational community by Prof. Dr. Daniela Feschian, Chairwoman of the Association of Economic Schools in Bulgaria", said Mrs. Maya Gesheva.

"I really liked what Prof. Dr. Daniela Feschian said about the bridge between the secondary education, the University and the business. The bridge helps us to gain practice, the practice leads to very good results and the results show us that when we are close to each other and together, things work out", said Mrs. Lilia Velinova, representative of the sponsor Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company and added that the participant ranked at the first place will receive 1000 BGN, second place - 800 BGN, third place - 500 BGN and an offer for an internship in the company. She outlined that all the nine interns, winners of last year's AESB competition, who were on internship at Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company, have received an offer to stay in the team of the company.

"I exclusively happy to be here today. Our association has existed for 20 years and it is an association that aims to protect the interests of the accounting guild. The AAAC is very well aware that it should be close to you when you decide one day to deal professionally with accounting and then we will have the opportunity to support each other, you - with new strength and enthusiasm, and we - with experience and know-how", emphasized the representative of AAAC Mrs. Raya Petrova, and noted that the Association will reward the participant ranked at the first place with 500 BGN, second place - with 300 BGN, third place - with 200 BGN.
