The Rector of UNWE Met with Lecturers and Students from the USA
A group of students and their lecturers from the Elmhurst University in Illinois /USA/ visited the UNWE as part of the international educational programme Global Business and Leadership*.

The American guests were welcomed by the Rector of the University Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov who introduced to them the history of UNWE as a leading economic university in Southeastern Europe, its international and scientific activity and the opportunities for academic collaboration it provides. The meeting was also attended by Assoc. Prof. D.Sc. Michael Musov, Acting Vice-Rector for Research and International Affairs.
After the meeting with the Mahaging Body the students visited the renovated UNWE Library where Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pascal Zhelev, lecturer at the International Economic Relations and Business Department, deliverd a lecture on the Transition from Planned Economy to European Integration: a Study of the Economic Transformation of Bulgaria. The lecture provoked discussion among the participants who had the opportunity to talk about various relevant issues related to the challenges that Bulgaria faces and its place in the global economy.

The visit also included a tour over the UNWE campus where the Wall of Fame, showing the history and achievements of some of the most prominent university graduates, made a significant impression. The students expressed their gratitude for the hospitality and the new knowledge they obtained as well as their admiration for the role the UNWE plays in shaping the future leaders in the field of politics, economics and business.

* The Global Business and Leadership educational programme provides students with the opportunity to dive into business management on a global level using Bulgaria as a real-life example to study business practices and environments in Central and Eastern Europe and the European Union. The programme includes academic lectures at leading universities in the country, meetings at companies, institutions and non-governmental organisations, participation in panel discussions, and cultural events.
