The Fundraising Initiative of the Rector of UNWE collected 8 550 BGN for Purchasing a Special Robot for Upper Limb Immobilization to Serve Children with Cerebral Palsy
8 550 BGN are the funds raised through the donation initiative of the Rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov on the occasion of his 60th Anniversary. Prof. Dimitrov invited his guests to participate in a charitable cause and donate the amount intended for gifts to the St. Sofia Specialized Rehabilitation Hospital for Children with Cerebral Palsy. Already during the party 7000 BGN were collected /copy of the payment slip on the picture below/. An additional 1,550 BGN were received to the hospital's account - it was announced by the Accounting Department of the Specialized Hospital.

"I would like to express my thankfulness to all my guests for their compassion. The UNWE can unite people for a cause and we proved it together. We succeeded to do something meaningful and good that provides an opportunity for better rehabilitation and socialization of children", outlined Prof. Dimitrov.

Prof. Dr. Ivan Chavdarov, Director of the Specialized Hospital for Children with Cerebral Palsy /in the picture above on the left/. "Due to the kindness of the people at the UNWE, the friends and official guests of Prof. Dimitrov, it will be purchased a special robot for upper limb immobilization which is extremely important in the process of rehabilitation of children."

St. Sofia Hospital is the first specialized hospital for children with cerebral palsy and it is equipped to serve children from 0 to 24 years old. In the last ten years high-tech and robotic rehabilitation has been incorporated which sets a new standard in the care of children with cerebral palsy.
