UNWE Lecturers Were Awarded Certificates for the Academic Positions of Professor and Associate Professor and the Scientific Degree of Doctor of Sciences. 71 Young Scientists Became PhD

On the eve of 1 November, the Day of the National Enlighteners, at a solemn ceremony in Maxima Aula the Rector Dr. Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov awarded the certificates to the lecturers held the academic positions of Professor and Associate Professor as well as to the lecturers acquired the scientific degree of Doctor of Sciences in the period December 2022 - October 2023.

"We are proud of the colleagues who receive their certificates for their academic growth today", greeted the attendees at the ceremony Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov and outlined: "In our university, this growth is not easy. We have juries with high requirements that insist on quality and high academic standards. It is difficult to become a doctor, associate professor and professor at UNWE, so I greet all who receive their certificates on this solemn day. This is a testimony to your academic growth and at the same time an expression of the university's endeavour to create enlighteners who will shape the future of Bulgarian science, economy and society. Congratulations to all of you, dear colleagues! The spirit makes the power! Good luck and new achievements!"

The Honorary Badge of the Rector was awarded by Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov to Prof. Dr. Margarita Atanasova, Dean of the General Economics Faculty, Prof. Dr. Vyara Stoilova, Vice Dean for Research of the General Economics Faculty, Prof. Dr. Kamelia Stefanova, former Dean of the Applied Informatics and Statistics Faculty, Prof. Dr. Emil Atanasov, Vice Dean for Research of the Finance and Accounting Faculty and Deputy Chairman of the UNWE General Assembly and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nikolay Tsonev from the Economics of Tourism Faculty, Director of the Centre for Project Management and Consulting in Tourism and former Minister of Defence.

"I am honoured to accept this gift during the week that I relinquish my duties as Dean of UNWE and as a lecturer. We all remember how, in March 2020, very wise, very courageous decisions had to be made about the educational process and research work within a few days. 25 academic representatives received their certificates. Eleven of them are the lecturers who have defended the academic position of Professor, twelve - Associate Professor and two of them have acquired the scientific degree of Doctor of Sciences.

The lecturers who have held the academic position of Professor over the last year are: Prof. Dr. Hristian Tanushev, Prof. Dr. Kamen Petrov, Prof. Dr. Tsvetan Tsvetkov, Prof. Dr. Elenita Velikova, Prof. Dr. Presiyana Nenkova, Prof. Dr. Spas Stavrev, Prof. Dr. Georgy Zabunov, Prof. Dr. Lyuben Boyanov, Prof. Dr. Svetla Tsvetkova, Prof. Dr. Sonya Chipeva and Prof. Dr. Venelin Boshnakov.

Thе lecturers who have held the academic position of Associate Professor over the last year are: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shteryo Nozarov, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kaloyan Dimitrov, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Georgy Ranchev, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Todorka Kineva, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Monica Moraliyska - Ivanova, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Petar Ivanov, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mihaela Mischeva, Assoc. Prof. Yana Stoencheva, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Valeria Dineva, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Borislav Atanasov, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Presian Marchev and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Petya Mitreva.

Assoc. Prof. D.Sc. Mihail Musov, Vice Rector for Research and International Affairs and Assoc. Prof. D.Sc. Irena Markova have acquired the scientific degree of Doctor of Sciences.

Assoc. Prof. D.Sc. Irena Markova was absent at the ceremony so she will receive her certificate additionally.

At the presidium the Vice Rector for Research and International Affairs Assoc. Prof. D.Sc. Mihail Musov said:

I owe this success to the support of many people whom I would like to thank: the Chairpwrson of the Scientific Jury - Prof. Dr. Daniela Feschian - and the distinguished members of the Scientific Jury, the Rector of UNWE - Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov - and my colleagues Vice-Rectors, the Head of the Accounting and Analysis Department - Prof. Dr. Snezhana Basheva - and my colleagues from the Accounting and Analysis Department and from the Finance and Accounting Faculty of UNWE. And of course to my parents and family. I believe that this success will be an inspiration for all capable colleagues to courageously follow their path in science!"
