The Rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov Was Awarded a Honourary Plaque by the Ministry of Defence for High Professionalism and Contribution to the Military Education System Development

The Defence Minister Todor Tagarev honoured Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov, Rector of the University of National and World Economy. At an official ceremony today, 2 November, the Rector was awarded the Honorary Plaque of the Ministry of Defence "Arms, Spirit and Traditions". The award is conferred on the Rector for the high professionalism and results achieved, the contribution to the development and improvement of the military education system, in relation to 1 November, the Day of National Enlighteners and on the occasion of his 60^th Anniversary.

In his welcoming speech Minister Todor Tagarev said that the Department of National and Regional Security at UNWE, which was founded by Prof. Tilcho Ivanov and expanded in the following years, plays a very important role in the development of modern management practices in the field of defence and preparation of professionals. "There is a very good interaction between the UNWE, the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces", emphasized the Minister adding that the UNWE plays an important role in the preparation of professionals for the defence sector.

In his turn Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov expressed thankfulness to the Ministry of Defence for the good cooperation and reminded that many UNWE students have the opportunity to do an internship in the defence system. "It is gratifying that many graduates of our university work in this field", pointed out the Rector of UNWE.
