UNWE and Korea's Kangnam University in Seoul Signed a Cooperation Agreement

The Rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov and Prof. Dr. Yoon Shinill, President of Korea`s Kangnam University /KNU/ and Chairperson of the Shimjeon Foundation, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation that includes academic exchange, lecturers and students exchange, joint research, lectures and professional development programmes.

"The UNWE already has a tradition to cooperate with foreign universities. We have partnerships with almost 180 universities and research networks from all over the world with whom we work on joint Master's degree programmes and research projects. In addition to the Erasmus+ Programme and ENGAGE.EU, in which the UNWE collaborates with eight other top European business universities, we have signed a Cooperation Agreement with a Chinese university, an Italian university and a university in Kosovo. I believe that we will take joint initiatives with your university that will be useful for your and our students", said Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov.

Prof. Dr. Yoon Shinill, President of Kangnam University /KNU/ and Chairman of the Shimjeon Foundation, expressed his contentment with the future cooperation. "Our university is one of the largest universities in Seoul and we cooperate with many institutions around the world. We will jointly develop exchange programmes for lecturers and employees to expand the academic cooperation. We will also work on joint research, lectures and continuing education programmes. We could work together in all areas", said Prof. Dr. Yoon Shinill.

The official signing of the Cooperation Agreement was attended by Prof. Dr. Hyo Chun Park, Secretary General of Shimjeon Foundation and Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Mr. Lee Jin Woo, Manager of International Affairs Office at KNU and Dr. James Hwan Joung Kang, lecturer at Veliko Tarnovo University, President of the Korean Diaspora in Bulgaria and correspondent of KNU in Bulgaria.

The signing of the Memorandum was attended by Prof. Dr. Dimitar Velev from the UNWE Informatics Department, Director of the Scientific Research Centre for Disaster Risk Reduction who has established the contacts with the representatives of Korea`s University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yanko Hristozov, Secretary General for International Affairs and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Plamena Zlateva from the UNWE Informatics Department.

Both parties agreed to create good conditions for students and lecturers exchange, providing adequate office space and full access to university libraries and facilities.

Prof. Dr. Dimitar Velev was elected as the Coordinator of the Memorandum from the UNWE and Dr. James Kang was elected as Coordinator from Kangnam University, Korea.
