The Rector Awarded to the Mayor of Kostinbrod a Statuette of Prof. Stefan Bobchev for the Educational Efforts Made in the Town

The Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov was an official guest at the celebrations on the occasion of the 49^th Anniversary of the town of Kostinbrod.

From the new town stage on Ivan Vazov Square Prof. Dimitrov greeted the Mayor of the Kostinbrod Mr. Trayko Mladenov for his active support of young people in the town: "During our first visit we were surprised how much has been implemented. I assure you that with the support of one of the largest universities in Bulgaria much more useful things could happen".

As an expression of gratitude for the joint work and with the wish to continue this fruitful cooperation, Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov awarded to Mr. Trayko Mladenov a crystal statuette of the founder and first Rector of UNWE Prof. Stefan Bobchev. "Ambassador, Minister, eminent scientist who was active in many fields, he founded our university 103 years ago. It was after the end of the First World War but people were thinking about education and culture and had hope for the future. Something that your Mayor do successfully in Kostinbrod Municipality", said the Rector.

In his speech the Mayor pointed out that Kostinbrod is a municipality with a very young population and therefore many infrastructure projects are built with a focus on young people.

Mrs. Milena Zavalova – Director of Production Centers at Coca-Cola - also described to the Rector her excellent impressions of the students at UNWE. Opportunities for internships and joint initiatives were discussed.
