The UNWE Was a Co-Organizer of the Summer Accreditation Academy 2023

On the occasion of the 25^th Anniversary of the Executive Agency "Bulgarian Accreditation Service" (EA BAS), the Summer Accreditation Academy 2023 was held in which the University of National and World Economy /UNWE/ was a co-organizer of two courses. The trainings took place on 25 August 2023 at the EA BAS Training Centre, Sofia, Bulgaria. The joint initiative is a consequence of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the UNWE and the EA BAS signed on 16 December 2021.

The course in Managing and Conducting Internal Audits of Quality Management Systems in Compliance with BDS EN ISO 19011:2018 and BDS EN ISO/IEC 17020:2012 was attended by 10 people, representatives of various organizations from the public and private sectors. The speakers on the topic were Eng. Stoyka Cherkezova, Chief Assessor of testing laboratories and Eng. Marina Georgieva, Director of the Accreditation of Conformity Assessment Bodies Directorate /ACAB/ and Chief Assessor and Quality Officer.

The lecturers introduced the trainees to the requirements and application of the standard in accredited quality management bodies.

The course on Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories in Compliance to BDS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 provoked even more interest, with 23 participants, including representatives from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences /BAS/, the Ministry of Defence, the Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov Institute of Defence and a number of private companies. The lecturer on the subject was Eng. Stefan Yanev - state inspector at the Accreditation of Laboratories Division and Chief Assessor.
