The Rector Signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Center for Promotion of Agricultural Cooperation to Encourage the Collaboration between China and the CEE Countries

The Rector Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov and Dr. Momchil Stanishev, Director of the Center for Promotion of Agricultural Cooperation between China and the Countries of Central and Eastern Europe /CPACCCCEE/ at Ministry of Agriculture and Food, signed an agreement of cooperation in entrepreneurship, management and agriculture.

"At the UNWE we encourage the student entrepreneurship and develop long-term partnerships with the business. Connecting the education with the business and with the organizations, part of the state administration, is very important for us as a university, which educates nearly 20 thousand students. It brings education closer to practice so that successful and competitive young people can come out of the university, who have the relevant expertise and will help the business and the Bulgarian economy to develop", said the Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov and outlined: "We have already established partnerships with Chinese educational institutions and universities as well as joint training programmes. We have opened a Center for Management the Dual Bachelor's Degree Programme in Economics with Tianjin Foreign Languages University /TFSU/. We also have a Dual Master's Degree Programme in International Business and Management taught in English with the Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China.

Dr. Momchil Stanishev expressed thankfulness to Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov for the initiative to sign the agreement and emphasized: "I am very happy to be back at the UNWE because I graduated here my Bachelor's degree in Economics and Organization of Labour. The cooperation with the University is important for us because the UNWE is one of the main partners of the Center in organizing the first of its kind Accelerator Programme for Agricultural Start-Ups between China and the CEE countries. We will assist with whatever is necessary because our Center as an administration at Ministry of Agriculture and Food, seeks to support both the private sector and academic circles which is the base of any organization that should produce knowledge, skills and add value to society as a whole". The CPACCCCEE and UNWE agreed on cooperation in conducting specialized trainings, practical conferences, seminars for UNWE students, organizing study practices, internships, etc.

The two institutions will work together on the preparation and presentation of a range of topics that are the subject of research by scholars and researchers from the member states related to the economic development, investment plans, best practices in agriculture, academic and cultural exchanges between the CEE countries and China. 

The CPACCCCEE jointly with the UNWE will continue to support projects developing innovative products, services or processes in agriculture, to promote youth entrepreneurship and to support the implementation of innovative projects of start-ups in agriculture and thus will contribute to the competitiveness of this sector in the region.

The Coordinator for the implementation of the cooperation agreement from the UNWE is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kostadin Kolarov, Director of the UNWE Institute of Entrepreneurship and Head of the Entrepreneurship Department, and from the CPACCCCEE the Coordinator is Dr. Momchil Stanishev.

The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Tsvetana Stoyanova, Deputy Rector for Institutional and Business Cooperation and Student Policies and Venislav Emilov, expert at the CSSSCCE.
