"It is my pleasure and honour to award to you a certificate for accessible architectural environment and stickers that you can proudly put on a visible place at the UNWE", said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ana Dzhumalieva. She expressed thankfulness to the Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov for making efforts and taking care for the disadvantaged students to provide an accessible environment so that the young people who want to study at the University do not feel discriminated.

"At the UNWE we make efforts and do our best for the accessibility of the environment because the attitude towards people with special needs in the society is one of the important elements of the value system. Creating equal opportunities and accessible environment for obtaining education as well as the successful integration into the social environment is of utmost importance", said the Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov and outlined: "Our university strives to provide excellent facilities for students with special needs - accessibility to the university space through access ramps and lifts, comfortable aulas with special seats for students with disabilities, places with easy access to the university's information system, specialized reading space in the library for people with visual impairments. Unhindered access to the Rector's wing of the University is provided for students with disabilities. Special spaces for people with special needs have been designated in the UNWE Test Centers and parking spaces have been provided in the University's central car park and the car park of Campus D.

Within the frameworks of its campaign "Accessible Bulgaria" the Commission for Protection Against Discrimination carries out a survey of accessible architectural environments throughout the country. Regional representatives of the Commission carried out an inspection of the UNWE campus territory and found out that the environment is accessible. It is an obligation under the Protection Against Discrimination Act because an inaccessible architectural environment is also a form of discrimination.
