Our University Will Cooperate with the Union for Economic Initiative

The UNWE and the Union for Economic Initiative /UEI/ signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The document was signed by the Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov and Krasimir Simonsky, member of the Board of Directors and Acting President - representing the UEI.

"The purpose of such partnerships is to meet the expectations of business to receive the necessary personnel. In order for successful and competitive young people to come out of the university, the business and the education must work together", said the Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov and emphasized: "That is why the UNWE will continue to bring the training closer to practice in order to prepare specialists who have the relevant expertise and will help the business and the Bulgarian economy to develop. I am convinced that the cooperation between our two institutions will bring synergy to both sides and, most importantly, will give our students the opportunity to touch to the real business environment".

"Connecting the education with the business is very important to us as an organization representing over ten thousand companies employing 120 thousand people. We need well-trained, educated young people who can deal with the challenges that come with the digital transformation. That is why we believe that well-prepared specialists who have digital skills combined with economic knowledge can contribute a lot to the development of the business in Bulgaria. It is also confirmed by the professionals coming out of the UNWE. We sign with contentment and with the desire for this to be a sustainable cooperation and we will do our best to offer the best internship programmes which are closest to the topics on which you prepare students and will provide opportunities for internships and events connecting students with real business", pointed out Krasimir Simonsky.

In the document is also said that the UNWE and the UEI will cooperate by informing the university students about internships in the UEI member-companies and public events for presenting the work of the Union.

The scope of the Memorandum includes the exchange of information and publications about activities and major events held by the UEI and UNWE as well as assistance for the participation of representatives of the Union in presentations to students, in lectures, seminars, conferences, meetings or other events organized by the University.

There is also an opportunity for partnership in the preparation of joint projects and their subsequent implementation and assistance for training in Bachelor`s, Master`s and Doctoral programmes at the UNWE for specialists and employees of the UEI member-companies.

The UEI will facilitate the participation of lecturers and other representatives of UNWE in meetings, lectures, expertise, consultations, statistical and other studies and events organized by the UEI.

The Coordinator for the implementation of the Memorandum of Cooperation on behalf of the UNWE is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Noncho Dimitrov, Vice Dean for Quality and International Cooperation of the Economics of Infrastructure Faculty and Scientific Secretary of the National and Regional Security Department, and on behalf of the UEI Coordinator is Mila Kalinova, Secretary of Information, Analysis and Management.

The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Tsvetana Stoyanova, Vice Rector for Institutional and Business Cooperation and Student Policies of UNWE and Gergana Kirilova, Director of the Rector's Office Directorate.
