11th International Scientific Conference for Undergraduates and Doctoral Students on the Infrastructure: Business and Communications

The eleventh edition of the International Scientific Conference for Undergraduates and Doctoral Students on the Infrastructure: Business and Communications organized by the Faculty of Economics of Infrastructure under the patronage of the Rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov was held at the university.

At the presidium were also Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mihail Musov, Vice Rector for Research and International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Silvia Terezova, Dean of the Faculty of Economics of Infrastructure, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maria Vodenicharova, Deputy Dean for Research of the Faculty of Economics of Infrastructure.

"The Faculty of Economics of Infrastructure, of which I am also a part, is a pioneer in organizing and conducting of such scientific forums, conferences for undergraduates and Doctoral students. Many of them have started their professional way from these conferences, many of them have then developed as lecturers and scientists in this field", said at the opening the Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov and greeted the students and their lecturers: "I greet you for the courage to participate and the effort you have made to do your papers and present them to us. Congratulations also to your lecturers who have encouraged you to participate in the Conference. Our university wants to help young people to develop and this initiative, which has become a tradition, is supported steadily by the Managing body of UNWE and the Dean's leadership of the Faculty of Economics of Infrastructure.

"First of all, I would like to greet the Organizing Committee and especially Prof. Dr. Silvia Teresova for the implementation of this event for the eleventh consecutive time. Student conferences have a special place in the calendar of scientific events of the University because as the Rector emphasized, we all started from such events and all future talents who will solve the problems of society in the future will also start from such events", said the Vice-Rector for Research and International Affairs Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mihail Musov.

"It is my great pleasure to have the honour to welcome you to the opening of the 11^th International Scientific Conference for Undergraduates and Doctoral Students. I am proud of the fact that you have made great efforts, it is evident from the programme that you have worked on topical issues and themes. I hope, in your section work, based on the discussions you will have, this will be the first step towards your future professional growth. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and good luck!", wished the Conference participants the Dean of the Faculty of Economics of Infrastructure Assoc. Prof. Dr. Silvia Terezova.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maria Vodenicharova, Vice Dean for Research of the Faculty of Economics of Infrastructure welcomed the participants and outlined that in the current year 50 undergraduates and Doctoral students, including 15 foreign students, participated in the Conference with their author`s papers.

The Forum was focused on the issues of infrastructure development in Bulgaria which include a wide range of aspects concerning the creation of a suitable business environment for the development of our economy and the application of modern practices in areas such as transport, energy, logistics, trade, defence and security, tourism and communications.

The Conference work was organized in three panels, papers were presented by undergraduates and Doctoral students from the six Departments of the Faculty of Economics of Infrastructure: Economics of Trade Department, Media and Public Communications Department, the Logistics and Supply Chains Department, the Economics of Transport and Energy Department, the National and Regional Security Department and the Economics of Tourism Department. Their works presented international students of Master's degree programme in Nuclear Security from Jordan, Indonesia, Iraq, Nigeria, Algeria, Sudan, Nigeria, Botswana and Serbia as well as international students of speciality Business Logistics.
