A Second Nursery for the Children of Our University

The Rector of the UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov officially opened a children's room in Block 55D. It is the second nursery in support of our students with young children. The first one was opened in January 2023 in Block 53B.

"Congratulations for the new children`s room", said the Rector and outlined that there has been a lot of interest and feedback from the students to this initiative of UNWE, which strives to have more actions of this kind. "Therefore, we will continue working to build an even more convenient and comfortable learning and living environment for our students. And let`s wish to have more children at the UNWE", said to young parents Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov.

The equipment and opening of children's rooms in the UNWE dormitories is an initiative of the Student Canteens and Dormitories Unit.

"The smiles of the parents and children today are an award for the work and efforts we have made to build the second children`s room in the UNWE student dormitories. We have tried to ensure the room with all the necessary equipment to make you feel comfortable and to help you. We will continue to develop in this direction and do all necessary so that you have more facilities", said Plamen Penev, Executive Director of the Student Canteens and Dormitories Unit.

Plamen Penev welcomed the first official guests: the Chairman of the Student Council Angel Stoykov, Prof. Dr. Tsvetana Stoyanova, Vice Rector for Institutional and Business Cooperation and Student Policies, the Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dragomir Stefanov, Secretary General for Social and Living Issues of Undergraduates and International Students, Daniel Parushev, Chairman of the National Representation of Student Councils /NRSC/, Ilian Chabukliisky, Chairman of the Committee on Social and Domestic Issues of Undergraduates /CSDIS/ as well as students and their children /from the left to the right/

The Rector highlighted the presence of Daniel Parushev pointing out his contribution and the decisive role of the NRSC in providing funds for the renovation of Block 55D.

"I would like to underline that the UNWE is the first university opening a children`s room and I greet the entire Rector's leadership for this because you are the best example in the country. Many universities saw what you have made and I am sure they will start doing the same. Let there be more children`s rooms so that the young colleagues, students and lecturers can enjoy the good conditions and have a motive to develop", said Daniel Parushev.

Prof. Dr. Tsvetana Stoyanova greeted the students for the new children`s room and expressed her hope that Block 61 will soon have such a room too. Prof. Dr. Dragomir Stefanov added that in a few months a ramp for children's wheelchairs will be built in front of the block.

Following an old tradition the first visitors were welcomed with round white bread and honey.

The children`s room is located is in a completely renovated place with special flooring. It is equipped with toys and everything necessary for children and their parents to feel comfortable.
