Monday, 03 April 2023 9:35

In the framework of the initiatives of the European University ENGAGE.EU whose member is also the UNWE a joint platform for collaboration between the researchers of the nine partner universities was developed. The platform is available online at https://www.research-community-engage.eu/.

Through the platform relations can be made with the members of the ENGAGE.EU research community who have a wide range of scientific expertise and professional experience. Opportunities to apply for and participate in international research projects, to take part in scientific events and useful materials will also be published on the platform. Every UNWE lecturer and PhD student can create their own profile on the platform. The platform will be continuously updated and each user will automatically receive information according to its research interests.

The Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov, member of the Board of Rectors of the European University ENGAGE.EU and project leader for Bulgaria outlined: "For many years, we, in higher education have been thinking locally and comparing ourselves with each other. It is time to get out of the national framework and measure our achievements. The European integration that we talk so much about must also happen in education - through networks and internationalization. It is an important tool at our disposal. It is the future but each university has to find its own way".

"ENGAGE.EU offers excellent opportunities for our lecturers to collaborate with renowned researchers from partner universities in solving contemporary challenges to the socio-economic development of society", says Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mihail Musov, Vice-Rector for Research and International Affairs and ENGAGE.EU Coordinator for the UNWE. "There are currently eight active research areas /Digital Transformation, Justice and Peace, Sustainable Business, Sustainable Society, Sustainable Planet, Health & Wellbeing, Inequality, Global Economy/ but any colleague is free to create a new one. It is possible to join the existing collaborative groups as well as to create new ones. Such interdisciplinary collaboration at such an international level is an outstanding achievement not only for our university but for the European research area as a whole."

The platform will be officially opened on 18 April 2023 at 4 p.m. All willing to participate in the event can do so after registration or by sending an email to [email protected].
