Day 3. Ten Editions Were Presented at the Week of the Book

Tourist Branding and Digital Technologies is a monograph by Chief Assist. Dr. Svetoslav Kaleychev, Scientific Secretary of the Economics of Tourism Department and lecturer in Tourism Marketing. The author presented his new book in which he examines the traditional marketing and the transition to digital technologies /Marketing 4.0/. He talks about the current digital technologies – chat bots, augmented reality, virtual reality, online booking, video with an inspiring story, artificial intelligence and others - that are being used in tourism. The author let us know about the latest marketing concept of Philip Kotler, the father of the modern marketing, Marketing 5.0. which concerns the penetration of digital technologies in the marketing. He also explores the extent the digital technology has entered tourism in Bulgaria surveying its use by five-star hotels, restaurants and travel agencies.

"The objective of the good branding is to create an association in the mind of the consumer, to evoke a feeling, an emotion associated with the brand and the digital technologies help with that. This book is not just about the theory, it's about the practice. In it I have given ideas for business growth and finally I have developed a model for improving the tourism branding", said Chief Assist. Dr. Svetoslav Kaleychev during the presentation which was attended by lecturers from the Economics of Tourism Department, students in their fourth year as well as by the Chairman of the Student Council Angel Stoykov, graduate of the Department.

A team of UNWE lecturers presented interactive monographs and textbooks done through the active use of modern technologies.

Chief Assist. Dr. Valeriya Dineva presented a monograph in electronic format - Modern Aspects of Internal Audit. The monograph is an original and up-to-date scientific study of the modern environment and its impact on internal audit. "In recent years, technology has developed at an unprecedented pace and business has moved increasingly into a digital environment. And internal audit needs to change in compliance with the conditions of the modern environment", said Chief Assist. Dr. Valeria Dineva. The final part of the monograph develops models for improving internal audit and draws conclusions highlighting the shortage of internal audit staff and the increasing need to use digital technologies in auditing.

It was presented the monograph Research, Development and Introduction of Innovative Methods in the Learning Process by the authors Prof. Dr. Miroslava Peicheva, Prof. Dr. Lyubomir Stefanov, Prof. Dr. Margarita Atanasova, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nevyana Kaneva, Chief Assist. Dr. Valeriya Dineva, Dr. Geneta Karavasileva, Dr. Venko Andonov and Dr. Anton Krastev.

"We did a study and analysis of the scientific literature related to the innovation in education; the practice related to the application of innovative methods in the learning process in world-renowned universities in the US and Europe; learning management systems, the differences between the paper, pdf and interactive textbooks", explained Prof. Dr. Miroslava Peycheva. And basing on the analyses, they concluded that it is necessary to focus on the online and distance learning using innovative methods.

The team of authors have also developed four interactive textbooks. Prof. Dr. Margarita Atanasova presented the interactive textbook Training and Development of Human Resources in Organizations - Theory and Practice which covers 4 main parts of the author's book Training and Development of Human Resources in Organizations - Theory and Practice and at the end of each part there is a section where students can access presentations with sound, music, links to selected publicly available resources, podcasts, videos, other open educational resources.

Chief Assist. Dr. Valeria Dineva presented the textbook Internal Audit Standards - Theory and Practice and Prof. Dr. Miroslava Peicheva showed the interactive textbook Human Resources Audit as well as the textbook Social Responsibility Standards.

The premiere of the book Media@ Society. From the Book to the Video by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Katya Mihailova started with a song and ended with a song as it used to begin the lectures of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Katya Mihailova. Apart from the fact that the book itself is extremely innovative, combining science and play, text and video, the premiere impressed with an interesting presentation, animation and video, as well as with the presence of many colleagues, students, former and present, lecturers from other universities and guests.

"Today is a celebration of spirituality. Personally, I found her unconventional book inspiring, thought provoking, and it could become a table read for other lecturers because it contains valuable, innovative ideas that can be applied to teaching in other disciplines, to inspire students to further develop the ideas and methodology described in the book“, said the Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Matilda Alexandrova-Boshnakova who opened the event.

“Medi@ Society. From Book to the Video is a book about thinking. The thinking that gets us into hell and around its 9 circles or the thinking that leads to the positive freedom to create. The book is about imagination. It's about sociological imagination as a result of sociological education, thinking, and culture", said the author.

The presenter Stoya Vitanova, graduate of UNWE, gave the floor to Prof. D. Sc./Soc./ Mihail Mirchev, Professor of Sociology at the UNWE Political Science Department who greeted Assoc. Prof. Dr. Katya Mihaylova for adopting in her analyses the method used for the analysis of literary works "chronotope" /unity of time and space/ developed by Michail Bakhtin and later used in sociology. "This book is peculiar, it is methodological but written in understandable language. It shows us how Assoc. Prof. Dr. Katya Mihailova works with her students, how she provokes them to be not only listeners but also co-authors of the textbook", said Prof. Mirchev.

The book reviewers Assoc. Prof. Dr. Donka Nikolova from the UNWE and Prof. Lydia Raicheva from Sofia University spoke very positively about the monograph.

"It is a model of a textbook for casual reading", is the opinion of Prof. Dr. Petko Todorov, a doyen in the creation of the journalism specialties at the UNWE.

All the books of the university lecturers are published by the UNWE Publishing Complex and financed by the UNWE R&D Fund.

Ivo Todorov presented the book Someone You Once Loved - a book of poetry to be published in a month. He is the author of poetry collectionsq a novel and short story collections. "I have experimented in various forms of prose and poetry but I am mostly fond of short forms such as the poem and the short story as well as innovative new forms", said Ivo Petrov and presented his CD of filmed poetry How2 Break a Heart in 7 Days issued a few years ago. The video clips accompanying the poems, read by the author himself, were filmed in Bulgaria and England. The interesting combination of text and vision were appealed by the audience which included representatives of arts at the UNWE.

Assoc. Prof. Georgy Berdarov, lecturer at St. Cl. Ohridsky University of Sofia, took the audience through the story and characters of the novel Absolvo Te - winner of the European Prize for Literature. The author clarified that the book tells true stories and intertwines two storylines.  One relates to the Holocaust and the horrors of the Nazi concentration camps and the other - to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

"The word "absolvo te" from Latin means forgiveness of all sins, it is also the great theme of the novel, the theme of forgiveness."
