BSIDES Competition Has Selected Pretenders for the National Cybersecurity Team. Day 2

50 competitors from all over the country took part in the cybersecurity competition held within the frameworks of the Second BSIDES International Cybersecurity Conference. The Conference was hosted and co-organized by the UNWE.

The competition is part of the national initiative Cybersecurity Challenge Bulgaria /CSCB/ supported by the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity /ENISA/ and the Ministry of e-Government. The objective of the initiative is to organize annual qualification competitions in the country to select the best ten young people to represent Bulgaria at the European Cybersecurity Championships.

The pretenders to represent Bulgaria at the European competition in Norway are: Victor Slavov – 24 years old, Simeon Bunchev – 24 years old, Krasimir Velkov – 19 years old. The national cybersecurity team will be formed after several qualification rounds.

"The competition is implemented in an online platform containing various specially created obstacles. The task for the participants is to "hack" them in 48 hours", explained Spas Ivanov, Managing Director of Baseline Cyber Security Company, one of the organizers of the competition.

Speakers at the Conference on the second day were leading IT specialists - Bozhidar Boyanov, Georgy Gerganov, Plamen Kalchev, Yuliyan Velikov, Peter Dangov, Alexander Andonov, Viktor Bonev.

The EU Cybersecurity Challenge 2023 is organized by ENISA /European Union Agency for Cybersecurity/ and has an objective to challenge the best young cybersecurity and cyber defence talent in Europe. Seven editions have been held so far and the Danish team won the Competition in 2022. This year the Competition will take place in October in Norway.
