Prof. Dr. Polya Katsamunska Won an International Award

The 8th Annual Women's Meet - AWM 2023 was held on March 4, 2023 in Chennai, the capital of the state of Tamil Nadu, India. The International Forum was organized by the Centre for Women Development /CWD/ of the Venus International Foundation /VIF/. Its objective is to promote the active participation of women in science and public life and to stimulate a spirit of exploration and inspiration for the next generation of women.

Delegates at the International Forum were 50 women from 10 countries working in different scientific fields and business areas from Scotland, France, Bulgaria, Singapore, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and India. Together with Dr. Christine Dufès from the University of Strathclyde, Scotland, Dr. Ariane Mézard from Ecole Normale Supérieure, France and Dr. Anne Rafin from the National University of Singapore. By the Bulgarian side as honorary guest and keynote speaker was invited Prof. Polya Katsamunska from the Public Administration Department of UNWE.

During the Annual Meeting it was held a ceremony on Women of Scientific Excellence Awards which Venus International Foundation annually confer on women scientists and researchers from different scientific fields and categories around the world for scientific achievements. During the ceremony Prof. Prof. Polya Katsamunska was honoured the Outstanding Woman Researcher in Public Administration Award in the category of Public Administration in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences.

The programme of the International Forum provided a unique platform to hear the voice of women scientists and researchers from different universities and research centers, government organizations and businesses and was dedicated to the topic "To Engage, Inspire, Energize and Build Next Generation Women in Science and Technology". In order to raise the awareness and knowledge about the potential of women's intellect and to promote the integration of women in science, business and public life, public lectures on various scientific topics and issues were given during the two working sessions. Along with it the forum provided a great opportunity to establish new academic contacts, personal friendships and possible joint scientific endeavours in the future.

Prof. Polya Katsamunska delivered a public lecture on the Women Leadership in Public Administration and the Role of Education which aroused the interest of the audience and generated discussion on a wide range of issues among the delegates of the Forum.
