The 100th jubilee edition of the Yearbook of UNWE was published.

The Editor-in-Chief of the scientific collection is Prof. Dr. Hristina Nikolova, Head of the Economics of Transport and Energy Department. She is also the author of 100 Years of the Yearbook of UNWE: Looking Back, Looking Ahead - the Editorial of jubilee edition. It briefly presents the history of the UNWE as well as the history of scientific publications and the Yearbook whose first volume was published in 1922. Prof. Nikolova examines the development of UNWE Yearbook over the years in terms of vision, volume, circulation, standard, content and its confirmation as a peer-reviewed scientific journal of the UNWE whose publications are indexed in the databases CEEOL, RePEc, ERIH+, CrossRef, ROAD, SIS, J-Gate and Google Scholar. The journal is also included in the National Reference List of Contemporary Bulgarian Peer-Reviewed Scientific Journals of National Center for Information and Documentation /NACID/ with ID No.1493.

The Editorial Board of the Yearbook of UNWE is composed of Prof. D.Sc./Soc./ Elka Todorova, Economic Sociology Department, Prof. D.Sc. Maya Lambovska, Management Department, Prof. Dr. Todor Nedev, Finance Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dorina Kabakchieva, Information Technologies and Communications Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pascal Zhelev, Vice Dean for Quality and International Cooperation of the International Economics and Politics Faculty and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maria Peneva, Economics of Natural Resources Department. The journal`s Editorial Board is actively working to improve its quality and publicatiosn by implementing and maintaining a state-of-the-art manuscript submission and review platform developed in 2022. In parallel, to increase the scope, quality and visibility of Bulgarian research within the Open Science initiative, the journal focuses on developing and providing opportunities for complete information on the interest of scientists from all over the world in the published articles.

The Rector Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov greeted the editorial team for the precise work and outlined that the stable future of the university depends on three important components: to be an active part of the alliance of the nine most prestigious economic universities in Europe - ENGAGE.EU, to participate in European projects, to strengthen research and internationalization of education.

"Our indexed publications will make us visible to the world that`s why your mission is so important. As a university Managing body we have undertaken a lot of initiatives to improve research and mainly publication activities", said Prof. Dimitrov reminding that the funds for stimulating scientific research and publication activities have been increased 20 times. The new rules for research projects increase their funding. All publication costs, including individual costs, can be covered by the University. Faculties now also have the opportunity to stimulate their staff.

"We want to make everyone feel that it is important to the whole university. It is what we are assessed on and I hope that very soon there will be visible results", concluded Prof. Dimitrov.

And although with the coming of the digital age it is extremely difficult to look into the future, I have no doubt that the future development of this scientific journal will build on the success achieved in its first century, it will maintain the high quality and relevance of its publications and will continue to protect and raise the prestige of our University", added Assoc. Yearbook of UNWE is a leading academic issue in the country which publishes in Bulgarian and English the results of research in the thematic areas of social sciences, economics, administration and management, law, political science, public communications and information sciences and related fields.

The journal aims to offer its readers research publications of the highest quality and the authors – a wide international recognition for their work by increasing the visibility and citation of articles in databases worldwide. Its main ambition is to give authors a chance to publish their scientific work in a reputable international journal and to offer readers examples of research excellence.

Submissions are accepted from Bulgarian and foreign authors, members of the academic staff of the UNWE and beyond as well as scientists and partners from other educational and research institutions from the country and abroad. Only original research papers that have not been published or presented elsewhere are published in the Yearbook. Manuscripts are prepared and presented in compliance with the requirements of the Editorial Board. The review of studies and articles is carried out according to the standards for evaluating incoming manuscripts through a double-blind peer review system.

The journal is published in two issues per year every six months. The publications are in English and include research results - studies, articles, scientific communications, literature reviews and other research. The average annual volume of published scientific content is 380 pages. The UNWE Yearbook is published both online and on paper.
