The Contract for the Modernization of the University Library is Signed

The Rector of the UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov and Arch. Miroslav Krastev, manager of Odaya Architects Ltd., signed a contract for the preparation of an architectural project for the modernization of the UNWE Library.

The contract for the first stage includes the preparation of the architectural design with three-dimensional visualization of the rooms (reading rooms, borrowing room, open spaces) as well as a project for the renovation of the electrical installation, heating, ventilation and air conditioning.

The total funds for the overall renovation of the Library - preparation of the project, carrying out major repairs, implementation of modern technologies for cleaning and storage of book items, improvement of the service to users are in the amount of BGN 1 940 000 and are granted under the Council of Ministers Decision of 21 December 2022.

"We requested this grant because the UNWE Library needed a major renovation to update the library spaces and we are thankful to the Council of Ministers for fulfilling that request. After the modernization, the space of the library will become an attractive center for both students and lecturers, a place not only for reading but also for carrying out group classes, open lessons, discussions, premiers of books and other events that will support the learning process", said Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov.

"The UNWE actively works to improve the educational process, not only by opening new specialties and cooperation with universities in the country and abroad, but also by modernizing and improving the learning environment", explained one of the main policies pursued by the UNWE the Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov.

The event was also attended by the Assistant Rector Prof. D.Sc./Econ./ Kiril Stoychev who will oversee the implementation of the activities, the Vice-Rector for Institutional and Business Cooperation and Student Policies Prof. Dr. Tsvetana Stoyanova, responsible for the library, the Acting Deputy Director of the Property Management Directorate and Head of the Public Procurements and Auctions Division Samuil Avdala and the Director of the University Library Petar Petrov.
