History of Bulgarian Entrepreneurship Was Published

History of Bulgarian Entrepreneurship is the title of the new book published on the idea of the Executive Director of the Executive Agency for Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises and lecturer at the UNWE - Dr. Boyko Takov. In the historical research participate authors from the University of National and World Economy /UNWE/ and "St. Climent Ohridsky" University of Sofia /SU/. Among them are Chief Assist. Dr. Silvia Georgieva - UNWE, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sonya Georgieva - SU, Prof. D.Sc./Soc./ Tsvetan Davidkov - SU, Prof. D.Sc./Econ./ Desislava Yordanova - SU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kostadin Kolarov - UNWE, Prof. D.Sc. Prof. Pencho Penchev - UNWE, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ralitsa Simeonova-Ganeva - SU. The book is published by the SME Promotion Agency.

Aware of the challenges in the implementation of this idea the authors team has made the necessary efforts to search and systematize the available historical research, to interpret from the perspective of modern understandings of entrepreneurship facts and events already researched and described by our and foreign historians, to select examples of successful entrepreneurs from different historical eras hoping that this book will be the basis which besides presenting the history of Bulgarian entrepreneurship in an accessible format will be the impetus for further research whose results will complement and extend it.

The lack of a unified contemporary theory of entrepreneurship and the changing over the time perceptions about the nature and role of entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship provoke discussions about the authors' views on Bulgarian entrepreneurship in different historical periods. But, as it is with other topics in our history, the authors team leaves the book open in anticipation of complementary, alternative viewpoints as long as they are not based on emotion but on facts and scientific arguments.

The authors hope that the readers will find sufficient reasons for national self-confidence and along with the examples from the world's leading economies that we used to cite, readers will find examples of entrepreneurs in our Bulgarian history.
