Memorandum in Support of Training in Master's Degree Programme in Accounting, Financial Control and Finance Accredited by ACCA

The UNWE and MDV Professional Development company signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to assist each other in the preparation of highly qualified specialists in the field of accounting, finance, financial control, economics and management.

The UNWE team will be assisted in the process of accreditation renewal by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants /ACCA/ - the world's largest professional organization providing qualifications in the field of accounting, auditing and finance.

The agreement was signed by the Rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov and Mr. Georgy Kirilov on behalf of the Manager of the company accredited by ACCA Dorothea Voeva.

At the event attended also Prof. Dr. Matilda Alexandrova-Boshnakova, Vice Rector for Educational Activity, Prof. Dr. Mihail Musov, Vice Rector for Research and International Affairs and Prof. Dr. Tsvetana Stoyanova, Vice Rector for Institutional and Business Cooperation and Student Policies.

The signing of the Memorandum provided for the UNWE the consecutive donation of educational materials from MDV Professional Education as a representative of BPP Professional Education - one of the leaders in the professional education at the Bulgarian and international market. The materials are part of the portfolio of BPP Learning Media representing MDF in Bulgaria and they are used for training in the field of finance, accounting and auditing by the largest and the most famous companies in the world.

The University Library received 20 textbooks and collections of tasks on the following ACCA subjects: Performance Management, Financial Reporting, Audit and Assurance and Financial Management. The educational materials are mainly intended for students in Master`s Degree Programme in Accounting, Financial Control and Finance which is accredited by ACCA.

The long-standing cooperation between the UNWE and MDV is based on the shared understanding that the experts of the future are prepared following the modern methods of training by qualified and experienced lecturers through up-to-date professionally prepared educational materials. Such are expected to be the students in the newly admitted fifth class of the prestigious Master's Degree Programme in Accounting, Financial Control and Finance taught in English.

Mr. Georgy Kirilov defined the presence of MDV at the UNWE as an exceptional privilege. "I have an insight over the process of education and I know that the qualitative education inevitably requires qualitative educational materials. We have the privilege of being accredited by ACCA and their Association which publishes the educational materials. I hope we will continue to maintain the high level of learning in this difficult subject - accounting and financial control.

The Rector Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov reminded that the university's policy is to create close relations with institutions and business and the university has even a Vice Rector with such portfolio. "In every way we strive to facilitate such collaborations because we do not want them to be formal and remain only on paper. ACCA is our strategic partner in training of future chartered accountants. The materials and training you provide allow students to rise to a high professional level while studying", outlined the Rector of UNWE.

The Vice Rector Assoc. Mihail Musov emphasized that the Master's Degree Programme established in partnership with ACCA is among the most successful Master's Degree Programmes at the Faculty of Finance and Accounting of UNWE. "The interest in this Programme is constantly increasing, including by the foreign students. It is a good practice created with hard work, dedication and perseverance. Congratulations to the team!"
