The Minister Georgy Todorov and the Rector Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov Discussed the Establishment of e-Government Academy
The establishment of e-Government Academy where the UNWE students would acquire specific skills personally from representatives of the Ministry of e-Government was discussed at a meeting between the Minister Georgy Todorov and the Rector of the UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov.
To solve the demand for e-Government personnel by establishing a Bachelor`s degree program in Cybersecurity was the second important topic discussed by the representatives of the two institutions.
The e-certificate and other digital services for students developed by the University of National and World Economy may become part of the state register of electronic services. For the purpose, a special working group with representatives of the Ministry and the University is to be set up.
"Our joint work is mutually beneficial and I believe there are many opportunities for a partnership. What you have done in relation to the digitalization at your University is impressive", said during the meeting the Minister Georgy Todorov.
"We also see many benefits in the mutual cooperation with your Ministry. I think the education should respond to the modern threats in cyberspace as well as we should promote digitalization", said the Rector Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov.
The meeting at the Ministry of e-Government was also attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rosen Kirilov, Vice Rector for Digitalization and Cybersecurity. He outlined that the UNWE students who have enrolled for the winter semester of academic year 2022/2023 can already install their Student Book in their phones. "The app completely replaces the plastic card. Soon, the entire Web-Student system will also be accessible through a smart phone", explained the Vice Rector.
In the meeting took also part Konstantin Azov, Head of the Political Cabinet of the Minister of e-Government, Nikolay Minev, Director of the e-Government Systems and Components Directorate and Mladen Petrov, Executive Director of the e-Government Infrastructure Agency.
