Prof. Carlos Flavian about the Role of Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality

On 26 September 2022, Prof. Carlos Flavian from the University of Zaragoza, Spain, delivered a lecture to the students of speciality Marketing and Strategic Planning taught in English at the Marketing and Strategic Planning Department of UNWE.

The lecture was dedicated to the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) for companies' activity. Prof. Flavian outlined the main areas of advantages but also the disadvantages and challenges for companies and consumers that arise from the development of ICT in Industry 4.0. Issues of a strategic nature were highlighted which the observed technological progress in the form of AI, VR and AR, pose and require to be profoundly analyzed and discussed. In particular, these are issues raised by the change in the working environment of companies and its impact on the relations between companies and consumers; issues raised by the relations between the forms of AI and the moral and ethical norms as a factor of human behaviour; issues about guaranteeing the rights of consumers at meetings with the forms of AI.

Prof. Flavian was a guest lecturer at the invitation and with the kind assistance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hristian Tanushev from the Marketing and Strategic Planning Department of UNWE.
