The Rector of UNWE Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov welcomed the students outlining that he was happy and proud that the oldest and largest business university in Bulgaria and Southeastern Europe with over 16 thousand students met again young people thirsty for knowledge and science. "The opening of the academic year is the most wonderful day! A celebration filled with the strongest emotion – the emotion of the new beginning! It is no coincidence the expression "thirst for knowledge". It is a period when you will not just learn, you will learn the lessons of life and how to be successful citizens of Bulgaria", emphasized Prof. Dimitrov.

In his Greeting speech the Prime Minister Galab Donev, who is a graduate of UNWE, pointed out: "Your University stands very close to my heart. Already 103 years later, the Renaissance spirit of the founder and first Rector Prof. Stephan Bobchev obliges the successors in academic togas. For more than a century profound academic knowledge has been taught here as well as the skills to analyze and find solutions to contemporary and future problems in Economics, Management and Administration, Law and Politics have been developed. A proof for this is the fact that more than 95% of UNWE students find successful realization at the labour market in the first year after their graduation", said Galab Donev. The Prime Minister wished the students to be real leaders who will help to develop the potential of the people in the organization they manage.

Mr. Donev was awarded by the Rector of the UNWE the jubilee edition "100 Years University of National and World Economy" as well as a statuette of Prof. Stephan Bobchev - founder and first Rector of UNWE.

The interim Prime Minister wrote in the Golden Book of UNWE: "The leadership is a responsibility to all among whom you are first. A really good leader has the power, knowledge and skills to improve the communication within the organization so as to create conditions for the development of hidden talents of everyone".

"This year will be a year of hope. In the last few years we have had the opportunity to face conditions surprising for all of us that have brought us many changes, made us open a new page in the development of higher education and in the development of ourselves", said the Chairman of the UNWE Student Council Angel Stoykov. He wished everyone a fruitful, healthy and successful academic year.  "I believe that this academic year will be better than the previous one, but not than the next one", added Angel Stoykov.

For the 2022/2023 academic year 90 employers have expressed their willingness to hire students in 13 professional fields and to open jobs for 730 students. It was announced by the Minister of Economy and Industry Nikola Stoyanov who also honoured the opening of the new academic year of our university. "The Ministry of Economy and Industry has provided an opportunity for nationally representative employers' organizations to submit proposals for the specializations for the 2022/2023 academic year in which employers have a shortage of skilled staff and at the same time are interested in investing the necessary time and resources to train their staff through practice. Among the most demanded specialities in the professional field of Economics are: Economic Management, Trade, Logistics and Industrial Management", says in his greeting Minister Nikola Stoyanov. He points out that the UNWE educates professionals for some of the best paid specialties. For example, the highest average monthly salary in the Creation and Dissemination of Information and Creative Products Sector reaches up to BGN 4,208.
