Triumph of Beauty and Talent in The Contest for Miss and Mr. UNWE

The first year students Rostislava Kutzarova and Ivaylo Andonov are the winners of the award for Miss and Mr. UNWE for this year. She is a student in speciality Economics by The Foreign Language Education and he is in Economics and Business. A jury determined the next student-girls in the list for queen of beauty to have one and the same name – Elena Mishkina and Elena Vasileva. Among the students-boys who were next in the list for award Mihail Tomov took the second place and Atanas Atanasov – the third place. The audience determined as winners Anjela Ivanova and Mario Mihailov by sending an SMS and a part of the audience received awards from the sponsors of the contest.

The emotional show was held at the crowded Maxima Aula. Among the jury of stars there were Rosy Ivanova and Slavena Vatova, winners of the award for Miss Bulgaria, the rap singer Romanian man, the sports agent Georgy Gradev as well as the TV7 presenters Jana Taneva and Vania Boneva. Representatives of the academic spirit of the university were the Vice-Rector Prof. Valentin Kisimov as well as the Head of The Media and Public Communications Department Prof. Petko Todorov.

The Chairman of the Students Council Kaloyan Dimitrov reminded that the initiative is a continuation of the campaign “I`ve Already Helped” that takes care of children without parents from the Home “Teacher Botyu” in Kalofer. “In the future we also will continue to show that we – the students of UNWE are active and valiant part of Bulgarian society deserving respect”, said also the Chairman in his speech.  In both urns from both sides of the stage everyone could give a donation for the cause.

The contest was conducted in several rounds. In the beginning the 18 participants who reached the final round marched by wearing elegant clothes and then they wore swimming suits and official costumes. The candidates were additionally embarrassed by the questions addressed to them. They were on the actual issues as the world financial crisis, the Nuclear Power Plant in Belene, the homeless dogs, the security at the Students Town, etc. Besides all that the participant had to reveal their various hobbies and talents. Among them were mentioned the extreme sports as Rugby, Tae-bo, rafting as well as swimming, badminton, eurythmic gymnastics. Pretenders for the award also cited their own poems, showed their own model-clothes, demonstrated their actor`s skills, danced and sang. The presenter of the contest Daniel Petkanov and the model girl Gery Dontcheva, winners of the award for Miss and Mr. UNWE in different years, also showed their singing skills.

The performance of No Comment and Lazar got hotter the mood at the stage and in the hall.
