NATO in 21st Century Was The Issue of Presentation To Students by Joseph Fitzdjerald from The USA Embassy
By the initiative of the National and Regional Security Department and the Intellectual Property Department, in collaboration with the USA Embassy in Bulgaria it was organized a public lecture on The NATO in 21st Century and the lecturer was Joseph Fitzdjerald.
By a richly illustrated presentation Joseph Fitzdjerald represented to students the North Atlantic Treaty Organization since its establishment to our days. He emphasized on the fundamental role of Article 5 in the Washington Treaty and the principles of collective defense and solidarity containing in it as well as on the structure and role of NATO in the modern environment of security. The lecturer examined the Alliance as a vital and actual organization that is able to counteract to the modern challenges of security – the terrorism, ballistic missiles, cybernetic attacks and many others. Joseph Fitzdjerald also emphasized on the modernization, strengthening and future relativity of NATO, on the expansion and affiliation of partners in a global plan.
