19 Universities from 7 Countries at the International Conference on the Strategic Planning and Marketing in Digital World

The International Scientific Conference on the Strategic Planning and Marketing in Digital World organized by the Department of Marketing and Strategic Planning was held in a hybrid format and provoked great interest.

Partners of the event are Aleksandër Moisiu University of Durrës - Albania; University of Tirana - Albania; Faculty of Finance and Humanities - Gregory University; Hryhorii Skovoroda University in Pereiaslav, Ukraine; Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv - Ukraine; Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus; Department of National Economics and Public Administration - Belarus, National Aviation University - Ukraine.

The major objective of the scientific forum was to present, through the prism of strategic planning and marketing, the main opportunities and challenges for modern society in the era of digitalization. As well as to cover all levels of government (company, regional, national and international) and their various aspects /marketing, planning, finance, education, health, etc./.

On behalf of the Marketing and Strategic Planning Department Prof. Dr. Krassimir Marinov, Deputy Head of the Department, greeted the participants in the Conference. "It`s an honour for us to welcome so many international partners, colleagues and students. This year the Conference is phenomenal because in it include 19 universities, 90 reports and over 120 participants, and we have a huge range of topics as economics, pandemics, digitalisation, education, etc. We are happy that so many people participate with their papers covering such a wide scientific scope. Prof. Marinov outlined that they do not underestimate the power of digitalization because everything in the Conference is related to it and it has become a leading force for many units.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mihail Musov, Vice-Rector for Research and International Affairs, welcomed the participants in the Conference on behalf of the Rector of UNWE. "This event is very special for our university. We are proud it is part of our conference calendar because it is one of our leading scientific events. The most wonderful thing is the international perspective that all of you will bring to the discussions - we have about 120 participants from 19 universities in 7 countries and 90 submitted reports. That is why we decided to make a special issue of our leading magazine "Economic Alternatives", indexed in Scopus, with selected articles from Conference. Assoc. Prof. Musov wished success emphasizing that "the Conference could not be organized at more appropriate time".

In his greeting address Galab Donev, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic and Social Policies and Minister of Labor and Social Policy, turns to the participants with the words: "The results achieved in the socio-economic development of Bulgaria and the European Union very clearly outlined the necessity of quality strategies and plans as a guarantee for successful management”. Minister Donev is convinced that the Conference will provide additional scientific arguments for clarifying the essential features of strategic planning. He pais attention to the fact that the Conference also raises some issues about the preparation of specialists in the field of strategic planning. "I am convinced that the University of National and World Economy and the Marketing and Strategic Planning Department are educational structures with proven authority in the preparation of such professionals", says also in his greeting address Minister Donev.

The elaborations from our university include the world economy, business organization and management. Our university is member of the International Training Network and offers programmes for 25 000 students.“

In five separate sessions the presentation of 90 scientific papers in Bulgarian, English and Russian was organized expressing the research views of 117 prominent scientists in the field. Two sessions /one in Bulgarian and Russian, and one in English/ were devoted to the issues of strategic planning and marketing in the digital world. In different session the elaborations in the field of strategic perspectives in the digital world were presented. The reports outlined the most important issues in the field of strategic planning and marketing covering specific aspects of the socio-economic life at all levels of government in the European Union, Albania, Belarus, Bulgaria, Georgia and Ukraine.

Representatives of the government, business and lecturers from the University of National and World Economy took a special part in the session held in the Great Conference Hall of UNWE.

The participants defined the Conference as full of fruitful discussions. The organizers point out with contentment the interest in the event by the youngest people – Ph.D students and undergraduates whom were given the opportunity to present the results of their research. The high quality of the presented research provides an opportunity for a selected part of them to be published in thematic editions of the Economic Alternatives Journal, indexed in Scopus, and the Yearbook of UNWE, indexed in CEEOL.
