On 22 November 2021 the Siberian University of Telecommunications and Information Science /SibSUTIS/ - Novosibirsk and the University of National and World Economy signed an Agreement of Cooperation. Both universities plan to strengthen the relations between the two countries by developing joint educational programmes.

The first project in the frameworks of the educational cooperation will be a joint hybrid Master's degree programme with the working title Digital Transformation. It includes the digital competencies studied at SibSUTIS and the economic knowledge provided by the UNWE.

According to the Acting Rector of SibSUTIS Assoc. Prof. D.Sc./Econ./ Bari Khairov “the joint Master's degree programme is just the beginning. In the future it is necessary to start joint training of Bachelors and Doctoral students".

The joint Master's degree programme provisions one year of study at the SibSUTIS and one year of study at the UNWE. All training will be held in Russian. As a result the graduates of the programme will receive two diplomas - Russian and European.

According to the Rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov "the hybrid nature of the educational programme allows us to unite the strengths of both universities and build a programme for preparation of many valuable professionals".

According to the plan the Programme will be approved by both universities till the end of February. Those who are interested will be able to apply for the Programme in 2022 and start their education in September.

During his visit to Novosibirsk the Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov visited SibSUTIS and held a number of working meetings in relation to the joint Master's degree programme. He made statements in popular local media including the TV programme “Together” on 10 Novosirsk Channel, University News and INFOPRO54.RU.

“The signing of the Agreement was delayed not only because of the pandemic but also because of the complexity of the procedure and the process of full synchronisation of the programmes of both universities. But I hope that if there is a desire by the management bodies of both universities, we will cope with all the difficulties”, said the Rector in the evening edition of the TV programme “Together” on 10 Novosirsk Channel.
