Ch. Assist. Dr. Silvia Todorova, lecturer at the Institute of Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer, returned from Luxembourg where for the second time she represented the interests of a large international company through the EU General Court in Luxembourg.

"The case is in the field of intellectual property and the parties in the hearing were: a large pharmaceutical company and the EU Intellectual Property Office (SESIS / EUIPO)", said Ch. Assist. Dr. Silvia Todorova adding: "The preparation for the case lasted more than a month and the hearing itself (oral hearings) was a precedent with its 180-minute duration".

The case is part of a global, international battle for the rights over a well-known dermal filler brand. The decision is expected to be issued in October 2021 having in mind that EUIPO's decisions are first appealed to the Board of Appeal and then to the General Court. The final instance is the Court of Justice.
