Another International Recognition for Professor from the UNWE

Prof. Dr. Polya Katsamuska from the Public Administration Department is the only Bulgarian woman re-elected for a second consecutive term in the International Commission on the Accreditation of Public Administration and Training Programs – ICAPA.

At its session, the Management Board of the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration - IASIA, Brussels, Belgium, has voted and approved the new composition of the Commission of 19 members. Among them are the most acknowledged and authoritative names in the field of public administration in the world having extensive practical experience as presidents of large international organizations and senior government officials in their countries.

The International Commission was established in 2012 aiming the accreditation of programmes in public administration for Bachelor, Master and PhD degree provided by the universities and institutions all over the world. Although there are other accreditation bodies at national and regional level the Commission is the only international accreditation body applying in its work the standards of supreme achievements in the field of education and training in public administration elaborated and approved by the joint working group of the United Nations Department of Public Administration and Development Management and International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration - IASIA.

During her first term /2013-2019/ as member of the International Commission Prof. Polya Katsamunska has taken part in the accreditation of programmes in the field of public administration provided by the universities in the USA, South America, Europe and Africa.

The election of Prof. Polya Katsmunska for a second consecutive term in the International Commission on the Accreditation as well as her appointment as an adviser to the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Bulgaria during the last year is the consecutive recognition of the scientific and intellectual capacity of UNWE academic staff and contribution to the confirmation of our university in the international and national knowledge development.
