UNWE Was Awarded for the Best IT Project of the Year

The UNWE was awarded the prize for the best IT Project of the Year in the category Education for the project Electronic Student Book. The distinction was bestowed on Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Valentin Kisimov, Director of the Center for Computer Innovative Systems by Mr. Ognyan Trayanov, Chairman of the Managing Board of the Bulgarian Association of Information Technologies (BAIT), during the ceremony on awarding the winners in the traditional contest IT Project of the Year (in the picture below).

The Electronic Student Book which combines a bank payment card, International Student Identity Card (ISIC) and a Student Book for electronic grades digitally signed by the lecturers was incorporated by the UNWE in cooperation with the Comitex Ltd, DSK Bank and the Association for Academic Community Support. Thus the UNWE has become the first university in Bulgaria where the students have Electronic Student Book.

The contest is held for a fifteen consecutive year and its objective is to present the most significant, large-scale and effective IT projects on information systems construction and use as well as national scale solutions.
