Bulgarian-Chinese Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University at the UNWE

An office of the Bulgarian-Chinese Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) for our country was opened at the UNWE.

The Center is established in the frameworks of the Agreement of Cooperation between the UNWE and SJTU and it is part of the initiative One Belt One Road (OBOR). In the Center are included UNWE, St. Climent Ohridsky University of Sofia and Technical University of Sofia but the projects are available to scientists from all universities in the country.

In 2017 an office of the Bulgarian-Chinese Center was opened at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Three years programme of the Center has been adopted and for the first time the Chinese Government has approved a budget for the Center to finance the scientific research programmes in the frameworks of 16+1 Initiative.

The Rector Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev pointed out that it`s a great honour to situate the new Bulgarian-Chinese Center at the UNWE. He also outlined that the work of the Center would give new impetus to cooperation not only between both universities but also to Bulgarian-Chinese relations in the field of higher education and science.

Prof. XU Xuemin emphasized on the fruitful cooperation between the UNWE and the Shanghai University and expressed confidence that the successful development of the Center would contribute to the wider academic and cultural exchange between the Bulgarian and Chinese universities.  

Mr. Dimitar Abadzhiev expressed his confidence that the Bulgarian-Chinese Center would be an open road for exchange of students and lecturers between both countries. He pointed out that it is a result of the longstanding cooperation between the Republic of Bulgaria and the People's Republic of China.
