The Rector Met with the Director of IAEA Nuclear Security Division and with a Representative of UNIDO
On February, 23rd, 2018 the Rector of UNWE Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev met with Mr. Raja Adnan, Director of the Division of Nuclear Security at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The event was organized by the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Bulgaria to UN, OSCE and the other international organizations in Vienna, Austria. The meeting was held in order to discuss the important issues in relation to the International Master`s Degree Programme in Nuclear Security started in the academic year 2015 / 2016 at the UNWE by the support of IAEA.
In the meeting took part Assoc. Prof. Dr. Svetoslav Spasov, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Bulgaria to UN, OSCE and the other international organizations in Vienna, Austria.

It was confirmed the continuation of financial support by the IAEA for the UNWE Programme studying students from Nigeria, Zambia, Lebanon, Burkina Faso, Congo, Sudan, Iraq, Mauritania, Uganda, Jordan and Bulgaria.
The International Master`s Degree Programme in Nuclear Security was worked out in the frameworks of the Agreement of Cooperation between the UNWE and IAEA signed by the Rector Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev and the Director-General of IAEA Yukiya Amano during his visit to Sofia in June 2014.
The Rector Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev met also with Mr. Shyam Upadhyaya, Chief of UNIDO Statistics Division. The meeting was organized at the initiative of the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Bulgaria to UN, OSCE and the other international organizations in Vienna.

The opportunities of cooperation between the UNIDO and the UNWE were discussed as well as signing of Memorandum of Understanding between both organizations in order to implement projects of mutual interest.
Mr. Upadhyaya granted to the UNWE Library the newest editions of UNIDO: World Statistics on Mining and Utilities, International Yearbook of Industrial Statistics 2018, Ulaanbaatar City Group on Statistics for Economies Based on Natural Resources and Competitive Industrial Performance Report.
