6th Scientific Conference for Undergraduates and Doctoral Students on The Multiform of Tourism in The Scientific Knowledge

For the sixth consecutive year the Scientific Conference for undergraduates and Doctoral students on the Multiform of Tourism in the Scientific Knowledge was held at the university. It was organized by the Economics of Tourism Department and at its opening attended Prof. Dr. Valentin Goev, Vice Rector for Scientific Research Activity, Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov, Dean of the Economics of Infrastructure Faculty, Prof. Dr. Todorka Toncheva, Head of the Economics of Tourism Department, Prof. Dr. Tanya Parusheva, Scientific Secretary of the Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elenita Velikova, moderator of the Forum, lecturers and students.

For the sixth consecutive year we have organized the Conference for undergraduates and Doctoral students which is traditional for our Department, pointed out during the opening of the Forum Assoc. Prof. Toncheva. She outlined the most important objective of the Conference: to give opportunity to the young people to show their abilities in the scientific field.

Not long ago I pointed out that the Economics of Infrastructure Faculty occupies the first place for the number of its Doctoral students and now I can declare that it is a leader also in the student scientific research activity, outlined Prof. Goev. He reminded that since the last year the programme of each university scientific forum had contained a section for undergraduates and Doctoral students but the Conference of the Economics of Tourism Department had been independent and traditional. There are three degrees of education – Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Doctor of Science and they form the knowledge from base to high degree, pointed out the Vice Rector. According to his words although the subsidized university admission had been reduced the annual number of Doctoral students at the UNWE had increased from 144 to 159.

The worthy presentation of our Faculty is due to the good work of Departments with the undergraduates and Doctoral students, outlined Prof. Dimitrov. Lots of miinisters in the new government have begun with scientific contribution as students, pointed out the way of successful development the Dean. Your scientific work and activity will be assessed, it is significant as for you, the students as for the employers, declared Prof. Dimitrov.

The newest requirements for working in the tourist branch were presented by Nikola Nikolov from the Premier Tours Ltd. and Stoyan Dimitrov, Manager at the Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena – Bansko, graduate of the Economics of Tourism Department.

Undergraduates and Doctoral students from the university took part in the Forum and delivered reports on various topics. Here are some of them: Rodopi Tourist Region, Law-Cost Airlines – Key Factor for the Modern Tourism Development, Spa Tourism Status, Gastronomic Tourism Development, etc.
