Qualification Courses in Macroeconomics and Basics of Entrepreneurship for Teachers

Qualification courses in Macroeconomics and Basics of Entrepreneurship for teachers were held at the university. In the courses took part teachers from the professional secondary schools and economic schools having disciplines related to the economics and entrepreneurship.

Prof. Dr. Milanka Slavova, Vice Rector for Education in the EQD of Bachelor and Lifelong Learning, Chairwoman of the Association of Economic Schools in Bulgaria, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Stela Raleva, Vice Rector for Education in the EQD of Master and Distance Learning, Deputy Head of the Economics Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivan Stoychev, Director of the Institute of Postgraduate Studies Division and Head of the International Economic Relations and Business Department, Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Kiril Todorov, Director of the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development and Acting Head of the Entrepreneurship Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kostadin Kolarov, Scientific Secretary of the Department.

The participants in the courses were greeted by Assoc. Prof. Milanka Slavova. She outlined the role of the Association of Economic Schools in Bulgaria and university for the effective cooperation with the secondary schools and implementation of seminars for preparation of teachers for professional fields as the entrepreneurship.

In February 2016 we participated together in the National Seminar in Economics, reminded Assoc. Raleva who examined also the effective cooperation between the UNWE and the economic schools.

The Institute of Postgraduate Studies works on the education of teachers for the secondary schools and for half year the qualification courses has included 6000 teachers, pointed out Assoc. Prof. Stoychev.

The effectiveness of training in Entrepreneurship for different educational degrees was commented by Assoc. Prof. Kolarov.

Together we can achieve more, pointed out in his greeting speech Prof. Todorov who outlined also the opportunity for teachers and pupils to participate in the academic conferences on Entrepreneurship.

During the courses

In the programme of the courses were included four major lectures – Essence, Role and Features of Entrepreneurship Activity of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) / Creation of New Business / SME Management after the Starting, Development and Growth of SME / Supportive Infrastructure for Entrepreneurship Activity and SME. As lecturers in the courses took part Prof. Kiril Todorov, Assoc. Prof. Kostadin Kolarov, Chief Assist. Dr. Maria Vasilska and Chief Assist. Dr. Silvia Georgieva.

Lectures in Macroeconomics were also held.
