The Government Resolved The Opening of Three Institutes at The UNWE

Three institutes will be opened in the structure of UNWE – Institute of Economics and Politics, Institute of Creative Industries and Business and Institute of Entrepreneurship. It was resolved by the Ministers Council at its session on 22 March.

The Institute of Economics and Politics will contribute to the optimization of scientific research activity at the university. Long-term scientific research will be implemented in it as well as an expert and consultant work on projects and programmes of regional, national and international importance. The major objectives is to support and implement the scientific research and to create scientific elaborations in the field of qualification of specialists practicing in the field of economy and for the transfer of knowledge and experience in the field of economic science between the universities at national and international level.

The Institute of Creative Industries and Business will provide the scientific development and service of academic process in both specialities - Intellectual Property and Business and Creative Industries and Business at Business Faculty of UNWE. The so called creative industries development based entirely on the creation and use of intellectual property and business are the prerequisite for measuring the contribution of these industries by the economic indicators as GDP, added value, employment, import-export of intellectual property subjects.

The Institute of Entrepreneurship will upgrade and integrate the acting scientific and academic units in the field of entrepreneurship at the UNWE. The scientific research and education in entrepreneurship are fields for integrating the science and teaching with the practice to give the students the opportunity to start their own business. They will assist to form a new entrepreneurship culture among the rest of the students. The objective of the UNWE Managing body is through the institute to develop and implement in the best way the modern form of research, teaching and relation with the practice incorporated by the last alterations in the Higher Education Act.

The activity of scientific institutes is in compliance with the measures provisioned in the Strategy of Higher Education Development in Bulgaria for the period 2014-2020 and in the National Strategy of Scientific Research Development 2020.

The opening of three institutes is on the ground of the UNWE Academic Council Decision No. 4/3 - 5.11.2016. The suggestion for the opening of the three institutes is in relation to the Article 25, Article 2 and Article 26b (1) of the Higher Education Act as for the purpose it is provided the relevant material and technical facilities, the necessary permanent academic positions as well as the positions in compliance with the Article 53 (1) of the same Act if necessary.
