The Rector Awarded Certificates to Winners in The National Competition in Economics

“Congratulations, future colleagues”, said to winners in the National Competition in Economics the Rector of UNWE Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Statty Stattev. Not occasionally you have heard also the student anthem because the pupils obtaining certificates today have already become students at the UNWE. The Certificate is recognized as excellent grade for successful entrance examination at out university in the subfield of Economics, Society and Human Resources for the academic year 2017-2018, announced the most important result Prof. Stattev.

Under the patronage of the Rector was also the implemented event – the most massive National Competition organized by the UNWE and the Association of Economic Schools in Bulgaria. It was held on 11 February in the university Test Center and pupils from more than 15 professional schools-members of the Association took part in it. The winners were awarded certificates in the Ceremonial Hall. During the ceremony on awarding attended Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev, Rector of UNWE and Head of the Economics Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Stela Raleva, Vice Rector and Deputy Head of the Economics Department, Prof. Dr. Daniela Feschiyan, Deputy Head of the Association of Economic Schools in Bulgaria, Emilia Ivanova, Director of the National Trade and Banking High School and member of the Management Board of the Association.

I am proud of you more than you are proud of your success, expressed his contentment with the results of future students Prof. Stattev. According to his words his 40 years of work at the UNWE had convinced him that beside the good preparation young people should also have a strong inner motivation. “You have demonstrated both qualities so I am sure that you will be good students”, pointed out the Rector.

Prof. Stattev tested the pupils with some question about the UNWE as “How large is the academic family of UNWE?” and “How many graduates and lecturers of the university have occupied high positions in the fifteen democratic governments?”. In response the Rector outlined that the UNWE had been the largest university in the country having 22 000 students and the largest business university in East Europe. Six are the Prime Ministers, seven - the Foreign Ministers, fourteen are the Ministers of Finance whose biography has been closely related to our university.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Stela Raleva greeted the winners on behalf of the Economics Department. The Economics is difficult and wide-ranged speciality that gives lots of opportunities, pointed out the Vice Rector and outlined the stages of education, choice of speciality after the second year of study and opportunities for Master`s degree. Don`t forget your teachers who have assisted your success to a great extent, greeted the pupils for the achieved results Assoc. Prof. Raleva. “We wait for you soon as our colleagues!”.
