Agreement of Co-Operation between The UNWE and The Bulgarian Institute of Standardization
An Agreement of Co-Operation between the UNWE and The Bulgarian Institute of Standardization (BIS) was signed by the Rector of the university Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev and Engr. Ivelin Burov, Chairman of the Governing Board of BIS. At the event attended the Vice Rectors of UNWE Assoc. Prof. Dr. Milanka Slavova, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Stela Raleva and Prof. Dr. Valentin Goev.
During the conversation was outlined that through the document had been considered the important role of standardization for developing the information society and for ensuring the compatibility and unobstructed exchange in the widest range.

In the co-operation are included joint activities related to the education of students in the field of standardization as well as the establishment of joint Information Center for Standardization at University Library. It will provide controlled free access of lecturers, officials, Doctoral students and undergraduates to the electronic fund of BIS where can be found the full texts of certain Bulgarian standards. It is expected that the Center will be opened during the 3rd Round-Table Conference entitled Sustainable Consumption in Bulgaria – the Voice of Consumers which will be held in September.
The tradition of participation of our lecturers in technical committees of BIS will be continued and in particular the participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Daniela Ivanova as a member of the Technical Committee No. 34: Quality Management and Compatibility Evaluation. Standardization will also continue being part of the quality management at the UNWE.

The Agreement provisions also the organization of joint events at national and international level related to the process of education of students in the field of standardization and its role for the future specialists oriented to the innovative global markets of products and services.
For Coordinator of the Agreement from the UNWE was appointed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elka Vasileva.
